Don't have facebook account - can I still use it?

Hello Warriors

I don't use facebook, but was wondering whether I could still use facebook ads. Basically, I want to use facebook ads without being force to have my own personal profile. I am not sure how it works, but was wondering if this is possible?

    Hi Stranger11,

You need a Facebook account to advertise on Facebook. Maybe create one for the purpose of advertising, but don't add friends to it.

Facebook is also a good place to promote your business for free by posting to relevant groups, so think about it.

    Cheers,

You do need to FB account to access it. I'd recommend just creating one and using it for marketing purposes. You don't have to add friends, but you'll need an account to access the ad campaign manager.

Thanks for the answers. I don't really want a visible personal profile of any sort, not even saying that it's private. Would you then recommend me to make a fake profile, or a profile that is named after the business?

I wouldn't recommend making a fake one, as it's a violation of the Facebook TOS "You will not provide any false personal information on Facebook, or create an account for anyone other than yourself without permission".

I'm not sure about using the name of your business, as I'm not familiar with people that do that.

Just create a real account with information that matches your payment profile. You dont need to add any friends to it if you dont want to.

If you make one thats clearly fake, you may find that your ads go into "soft block" which basically rejects every ad you submit, but does not tell you why. Its like ghosting, to keep people guessing who create fake accounts for this exact reason.

    Good luck

Dont make a fake FB account. Breaking a platforms TOS is no way to get started with it.

Thanks for the helpful answers. I understand fb users don't buy right away, so if I am promoting an information product would it be a good idea to give out a free eBook first and get them on my list? So use the Facebook ads to build your list and then promote to your list?

One of the best ways is to have a fan page with a squeeze page on it. Then you can direct targeted ads at the squeeze page. Use the squeeze page to collect emails.

Also dont forget to do regular posts on the subject of your product. Little free tid-bits that are useful and will help you build a working relationship with your fan base.

To clarify, would the squeeze page with optin be on the facebook fan page, or am I putting a link to the squeeze page on the fan page?

You can do have access to it, but it is better if you will create one. After all, everything would just be for business purposes and making an account is very easy. And yes, never make a bogus account just to get through it. This is strictly prohibited, especially if you do not want to just suddenly lose access to your page one day.
