How much time do you spend for SEO?

There are standard guidelines to follow for SEO, and then there are labor intensive website promo activities that you can do on a day-to-day basis that add very small increments that gradually at some point add up to a boost. The Return Of Investment curve for these time-intensive activities is, in my experience, not linear. There's a point at which you could easily dedicate 8 hours a day to pumping your sites but see very little return for it. Exactly how much time do you spend, and what regular do you follow for SEO?

I outsource it. The ROI on time spent getting results will never be truly profitable. I want to spend my time growing my business not as Brutecky says "Doing The Google Dance".

As my family and friends will attest I'm no good on the dance-floor anyway!

Same here. Mind you I do try to put useful fresh content on my affiliate training blog but, other than that I find there are much faster ways to bring a few dollars in than by excessive SEO ie by advertising using the various methods that are available.

Maybe 5% for my local clients (all of which I outsource), but even that's getting less and less with more emphasis on social and much more emphasis on paid ads.

95% of my traffic used to be SEO, but I've switched to social and paid and it's much better. Yes, I love revenue from organic search which still happens, but the Google updates are tiresome and too unpredictable. I need predictable traffic which social/paid provides.

I spend around seven to eight hours a day for SEO, but most of the time, I let other people do the job for me and yes, I am talking about outsourcing. I know just how to manage the entire operations but there are still people whom I trust more than myself when it comes to knowledge in SEO.

Interesting how do you make sure the quality of the links you are getting? Do you have got to people in Fiverr that work for you?

It obviously works otherwise you wouldn't keep doing it. Would appreciate you thoughts on how to use Fiverr strategically to get results.

The amount of time spent for SEO really depends on the capabilities, the motives and the money that one has. If you want to get things done the easy and quick way and you have money, you can just cut the waiting and working time by outsourcing, just like me. But I still choose to be the one to attend to several tasks for a faster progress manifestation.

With SEO the cool thing is all you need to do is figure out the process then once its figured out the work is easily outsourced to someone else...

Even if it is profitable for you, outsourcing will allow you to spend your time on creating quality content then the boring backlinking process...

SEO needs some time. I think the perfect estimate for this would be 8 to 12 hours a day (that is if you are really serious about your online business). If you are too busy to mind SEO strategies, try to outsource someone. There are SEO experts out there who are selling their expertise and knowledge at an affordable price.

Hi, The question every business professional must ask is, "How much will we spend on SEO?" Keep reading for all the information you'll need to make that decision, plus some helpful tips on how SEO agencies work so you can be successful as you forge a crucial partnership with an online marketing firm.

That is going to greatly depend on your competition, where you are in the rankings and where you want to be.

If you just want to be number one for your company name and this is fairly individual (e.g. Dream Garden Care, Anytown) then it is not going to be expensive.

But if your plan is to create a website about cars and become number one for the term "cars" then it is going to cost you a fortune to dislodge the well established competition - but it can be done.

So I think its largely depends on you. Thanks.

Another factor that can determine how much time you could be spending on SEO may be the amount of knowledge that you have about it. If you already know its whereabouts and you are already confident about each move that you make, you will already be able to save a lot of time. Unfortunately, learning SEO is never-ending process.

As for me, SEO is something that I can deal with by myself, most of the time. I have also tried working with others for SEO -- something that can only be successful if you know how to choose the people you should work with. You can already be paying others to help you but they will just end up slowing you down.

Well, you see, there really are a lot of factors that can be considered. The time you spend for SEO depends on what you are aiming to get and how much of it you are willing to work hard for. Also, you should evaluate how much you are willing to spend for the work to be done quicker than it should if you are going to do the entire job by yourself.

If you are looking for something that can make you productive SEO-wise, you will really have to study your abilities and your capabilities in working with other people. It would be hard to tell an average time that people should spend to get successful SEO. It depends upon the person's perspective on what successful SEO is.

The answer to how much time for sco i guess is not the right question. Any thing you do online will take a little time to bear fruits
sco is getting your website to rank on front page of all of the search engines and you will get all of the traffic over time that you need. do not buy traffic when you can get it all by investing some time. when done right you eleminate all of the guessing
so my advice is a) sign up for sco b) place your website content with lots of KEYWORDS on reliable sites like youtube,fb,forums, squidoo, hubpages, twitter and rss. with back links to your website
If you like me do a little bit on weekends or when time permits .. this is not a rush job..
when you are done you just sit back and relax then watch results over time because you will now have good sustainable traffic for life
once you invest the time and set this up.. you are good for life .no more throwing your money away to buy the best traffic link..you will always have the best traffic ..now from time to time you go back and change your keywords depending your new niche
My advice .. avoid all the noise out there and put the time in if what you are looking for reliable constant traffic that will bring in the dollars

I totally agree. Well, basically, anything that you want to do in life to make a living will take a little time to bear fruits. The reason why a lot of people are not getting the success that they want from doing SEO is because they are not patient enough and they feel discouraged when they start losing money (which, in my opinion, is totally normal if you are just getting started).

Very true. Some people get stuck because of that part. Most of the time, what I do is that I think of the idea for all of my articles, first. After that, I will just write endlessly. You can always devise your own strategies to make things easier and quicker for you.

I perform roughly 15 hours a week of Internet marketing services for my two sites. I spend a lot of time social media marketing and a decent amount of time building links and creating content for SEO purposes. I find that for a return on investment, social media marketing is where the money is. In the future I am going to write more content because I can make money from ad revenue and lead people to my site.
