Being Targeted On Facebook Ad

Recently I've seen so many affiliate recruits or product launches or anything IM related services / products on the right hand side of Facebook.

As far as I know, I'm being targeted as one of potential audience for the ad. But how did they do this?

Is it my the fanpage I liked? or groups I joined?

If so, how can I extract members of a group and add them to the audience in power editor?

Likes, Interests, #hashtags, groups, and some even speculate conversation topics (if you talk to your friend about a product, and that brand is an advertiser, you'll start seeing their ads). If you like JVZoo or WarriorForum or Clickbank, you're going to see ads for affiliate launches. If you like Lance Armstrong, you're going to see ads for cycle parts and biking events.

As for the groups, there was a program I saw here once that did that but it felt really clunky and was rather difficult to use. You had to load a page in their web browser, and click to show the members and then keep clicking and clicking and it would collect their data. But no automatic way of doing it unless you run the group.

    Yep, you are definitely targeted.

It is either a group or fanpage that you like or a part of.

You can extract users by adding their email address to ID manually.

Or use a software to extract them all at one

      Thanks guys!

Can you kind of be more specific on how this is done? because I'm going to launch a product in the near future, and would love to do the same to recruit some affilaites.

      Thank you again in advance!

You buy ads on Facebook and use precise interest targeting, paying per click or per impression.

It's through Facebook retargeting. Most likely you visited an MMO site that works with Facebook Exchange and they shared your cookie with other marketers like it was an email address.

We've done lots of "Remarketing" on Facebook. Remarketing is when someone visits your site (for example), you can have it so an ad of yours shows up the next time they visit Facebook.

It's a very powerful form of marketing and works awesome.
