How to get new subscribers

Good morning from Europe...

This may sound like a beginner's question, but...
I was wondering if anyone can contribute any cool ideas for getting new subscribers for an eMail list.

I offer free articles about music marketing (want to sell books later). So I have started to post some articles (just the introduction plus a "read more" link) on relevant Facebook groups but have not won a single subscriber yet.

I'm not (yet) talking about turnarounds and great copy - I'm mainly concerned about driving interested people to my website at all.

I'm really thankful for any good hint.

    Thank you for your reply. Yes, there is a facebook page. But getting "likes" for it is just the same hard work as getting subscribers. After all I wouldn't want to send out mass messages that say "like my page"...

    - active people, who comments on post, post cool stuff
    - they want to be engaged, and they like to be involved in discussions.
    To add " read more" link is not interesting or engaging enough for them.
    But perherps you can ask them question like :
    -what do think about....................................- read more
    -Is it right, that..........................................- read more
    -What would you do on this ...............................?
    Just to give you some idea. If you can give them stuff to comment, they will share it comment it and Optin.
    and ofcourse for a long term success you have to plan it with your FB Page and your optin Page( in Facebook on Tabs or outside of FB like Website.... )

    Hi Juliaangel, i would like to tell you that getting lots of followers on Facebook could be really hard but if you put right efforts in the right way then you can get some new followers for you page, just follow below steps:

    1-Try create a good looking page.
    2-Always share your content with a large size image with a link of your content this attracts more people towards your content.
    3-Try to share new content contentiously on your Facebook page.
    4- Search for the same niche Facebook pages with high Facebook followers and get engage with followers of that page by liking there comments and leaving your comments with others comment.
    5- at the beginning this could take some time but trust me this definitely increase your followers list.

    - how long you do this every day (if you do)
    - how many new followers do you get each day by doing this (or any realistic number)?

    Why do you want subscribers? If you just want web traffic, why not focus on sending them straight to your website? Subscribers can be great but generally the effort to get them without having a complete strategy planned out to use them can be wasted. When you are starting out, using the process with the least friction or commitment can be the easiest way to learn what people want from you and how to grow. Try asking people for feedback on your website and see how they respond!

    You have many options to do that, paid and free both.
    For free, you can build a list using your forum signature link,
    And if you are willing to spend some money on advertising, then you can do it on sites, social networks, solo ads ect.

It is the biggest social networking website out there, and will go down in history as one of the biggest websites ever visited and used on a daily basis.     Hey Julian,

    Have you considered putting together a really high quality music marketing tutorial for a bigger site in your niche - maybe even one of the top marketing sites?

    This way you're providing a lot of value to a wider audience and getting backlinks to your site. You could also put a link to "subscribe" in the bio of your guest article, which might give you a nice subscription boost.

      There really is a free strategy you can use that is very effective:

      The key is to understand what Facebook is about, and that is expression and identity. Being a social media platform, people tend to group together with others who feel and think the way they do.

      So the strategy to implement is to join whatever groups there are that are related to your niche. So if you are into personal development, for example, then you want to join groups that have to do with personal development, self-help, inspiration, motivation, goal-setting, etc. You get the idea.

      Next you want to contribute high-quality content as the goal is to change and impact people's lives. DO NOT SPAM the group with links to your offers as that will get you banned from the groups. However, you can link to your site if you posted an awesome article on said site. You should also consider making awesome videos on YouTube and post links from FB to YouTube, which should contain a link back to your site or lead-capture page.

      Next, respond to other people's posts in the group either praising them for their contribution or adding further value to the thread. this helps you to develop relationships and helps people get to know like and trust you.

      Now this step is vital - find at least 5 people a day that you have interacted with a request them as friends. Never do more than five as FB will assume that you are just friend fishing for spamming purposes and ban you. The reason you want to do this is because while its bad manners to spam the groups, you can post whatever you want on YOUR page, and by having these people as friends, they can see all your posts, which should contain your offers, and your fan page promotions. They shouldn't mind as they are now your friends and already know that you only promote high-quality content, as evidenced by your group postings.

      This simple method is slow, methodical, and monotonous work, but it is by far the most effective way to build QUALITY subscribers to your fan page and to your email list. It is the method I learned and still use to this day. The best part is that this same strategy can be used for ALL the platforms, including YouTube.

    1) Create a Fanpage, use FB ads, optimize to get clicks at $0.07, promote your squeeze page there. 2) Solo Ads (there are plenty) 3)WSO's 4)You could sign up for traffic exchange sites but very hard to get subscribers, unless you have a really great squeeze.

    1-3 are paid options which imo builds your list fast with control.
