How much is a like worth in $ compared to an email address?

I realize there are no exact numbers on this as it will depend on the market, the sales processes etc. But in a general sense, how much is a facebook "like" worth compared to a confirmed email subscriber?

1/10th? 1/100th?

I have no idea and it would be cool to hear your opinions.

Individually an email is worth much more but collectively likes can be worth more. For example, I would rather have 1,000 emails than 1,000 likes and 500,000 emails than 500,000 likes assuming they belonged to the same person. However, you can get a lot bigger business opportunities from having 500,000 generic likes versus 500,000 generic emails. If you want a make a few dollars, having a few emails is the way to go. If you want to take a shot at the huge opportunities available, having the huge fan base on Facebook is easier to obtain and will give you a higher ROI faster than building emails.

Only you can determine worth for a metric like this. What's it worth 'to you' is the only question worth asking

Value of email and the name is more then having like on the business page. Again it depends upto what extent you are utilizing email id and what strategy you have taken to use the email id.

To know the answer to this question, you need to Track your Results.

If you receive Sales ($) from your Email list, then calculate the value of an email address as Sales $ per month divided by count of Email address in your list. The result is $ Sales per month per Email address.

If you receive Sales directly from "Likes", use the same formula.

If, however, you receive Email opt-ins based on your "Likes", than calculate how many "Likes" it takes to receive a new Email opt-in. This result is most likely the answer to your question.

Kevin took the words out of my mouth...you would have to know your numbers in order to determine its value. Just like most ppl think a email subscriber is worth a $1...not for everyone...could be more, could be less...
