I would avoid buying likes and fake users.

To make money and create an engaging fan page, you don't need millions of users like Starbucks. I know of some fan pages that help their owners generate a lot of money and they only have a few hundred, really dedicated followers.

Like usamawahid11 said, you should try reaching out and doing some initial marketing to targeted potential fans.

I agree fake likes don't really help. You can increase likes by running Facebook ads for likes where you can target people in your niche. Can be expensive if you don't do it properly.

      Some free options are
You can also like other pages, comment on, like, share their posts as your page and that will show up in their followers feed and they can like your page when they visit as long as you have good stuff on your page.

If you have a blog you can add the Facebook like button there and encourage your readers to like your page. If you have an email list you can do that to.

You can do resource best of posts linking to other blogs in your niche and let the owners know you've included them and ask them to like your page and share with their readers.
There is a time cost on these techniques and you probably won't see it happen quickly.

Best way to get "Likes" is to advertise on FB for page likes using CPM and let FB optimize for clicks. Spending $5 to $10 should get you a good amount of legit likes.

    Hello,

You can advertise though your friends and invite them to like your page. I also advice you don't look for fake likes and fans. There will always be some people in any system that will try to game that system and ruin it for everybody else, half the time without really gaining anything for themselves in the long run, though some companies can profit in the short term. But in the end, it will always fall apart and the negative publicity will sink anyone who tries to cheat. Here are a few reasons on why you should not take this underground approach.

    • It's cheating
    • Termination
    • Waste of Money
    • Fake fans = equals fake customers

Hope you understand all about its bad reflection. Have a nice day

Here is a technique I use to help my page visibility:

When you click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of your FB account you get an option of "Use Facebook As:" and your pages will be listed.

I Use Facebook As one of my pages and then search for other pages in the same particular niche and Like them, then I visit those pages and add to the comments with useful or insightful or fun comments. NEVER ask for Likes to your page in the comments of some other page, this = SPAM

I have generated Likes by doing this ... not a great flood, but still get people Liking my pages in this manner.

The best method I have found is to run a short FB ad campaign, you get authentic, targeted Likes to your pages in a short amount of time.

How real is the risk of termination though ?

I have always gone down the route of buying 500 likes then following up with a facebook Ad campaign, the 500 are not valuable but the cost is small and it supports the herd mentality people can get.

Your content does need to be decent though, I always encourage fans to submit content.

Buying likes would not be any good to me anyway, as I need likes from people locally.

I am kind of struggling for content to put up to be honest. I am trying to build a subscription list for my local sms coupon service, so have not got a list yet, so cannot get companies on board till I have a list to sell them to, hence no offers etc to post up yet. I am really just sharing deals and stories of local outlets I am following. And made a few comments on some of their posts.

Any ideas for unique content I can use related to my niche? Relating to my service? I have already postsed up what my service will be doing once I have built the subscription list.

    Want likes?

    1. Create a very good free ebook or something valuable for your niche fans.

    2. Set up a fangate with Woobox (it's free). Offer the freebie when they like your fangate.

    3. Redirect your fangate to a squeeze page (require the optin as well). This way you get fans and email subscribers for the same dollar.

    4. Invest in Facebook ads sending traffic to your fangate. The ad advertises your free offer.

Works like a charm. There's a little trial and error getting the right offer and getting a high CTR for ads and like conversion, but once you have good conversion, monetize asap and reinvest in your ad campaign.

You can start with $2 to $5 per day and scale up.

The key to having a successful Facebook Page and to encourage people to like it is your visibility, so make sure you post as often as you can and engage your followers in conversation so that they may be encouraged to comment there more often. Regular activities in a Facebook Page will result to more exposure and more likes. Do not worry that you do not have the gazillion of likers at the moment, if you take care of your page and nurture it by posting quality and engaging statuses, those likers will be arriving next.

There isn't any one specific way its actually a combination of ways.

Some of which are already listed above.

Here's what I'd do after set up.

Find the similar sites as yours that are doing best eg if your niche is red dogs and you have 100 find the Top red dogs fan pages with the most likes in ascendng order of likes.(if you use twitter to search for different red dog twitter pages with high followers its lkely they will have facebook pages with high likes too)

I'd say start off with finding 10 a week who have around 500-15k fblikes
    Like those pages.
Flesh out you're facebook page with content (facebook pages are magazines treat them as such more pictures less links )
The funnier or cooler the pic related to your topic the better.
Do this for about a week posting twice a day on fbk afternoon ''lunch ish'' time and evening ''rush hourish'' time.

By end of the week you'll have 14 cool/funny posts
Now whilst these first 7days are passing by be going on your 10 top red dogs fbk pages and posting useful stuff (if its more than 3 words then its likely to be useful) use your judgement this is not a rule e.g. you see a cute pic put a smiley or a heart or a this red dog is cool

Now go back to ur list of 10 facebook pages and for that next week share something from one of each one of theirs that fits in with your page again at lunchish or evening rush hourish time.

So you have 1 post from these 10 that you share on you on your page.
Personally Id share one post/pic from one page at one time of the day and the other pic on that same day will be my own pic/post.

Now you are still commenting and doing you're usefull this red dog is cool that red dog is not etc

Now you are in week 3 you can go back and say to them you like their pages would they mind doing a share for share as their pages will be useful to your readers and how will they like to be captioned when you share their page on your own pages wall.

How to share a page: you simply go on the persons page you want to share as your page (not as your self) click the screw icon on the far right it willl give you the option to share.

The share for share idea isn't new I even found it somewhere here on WF but the technique used is how I do it find yours and you'll be fine.

Combine this with a lot of the good advice already mentioned above e.g. the useful non generic commenting and the create a fan gate for a useful ebook and you should be getting worst case scenario 20ish new likes a month if you do nothing else i.e. you don't blog or do an ads campaign etc.

PS most important thing when you post a pic/video etc is to ask yourself will it make people share it at least once.

For instance a video like this http://youtu.be/VlOxlSOr3_M I will share forever and so will most people again use judgement think about your niche for it to be social it has to be fun and make people want to like share comment or do something with it.

Always avoid fake likes as those likes wont affect on your business. To increase your page likes you should post something useful and quality contents that people want to read, see and like your contents. Actually likes are not for your page but your contents which are you sharing for people. You can join some groups and make some activity with group i.e. post something interested and like other people posts then invite them to like your contents and page. In this way you can get genuine likes.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[8696298].message }}
  • You don't have to post content that's related to your business each and every time. You could post and share popular news, fun memes, or articles related to your niche. Give your Facebook page some personality and regular activity so people will know that it's an active page.

The only benefit I see from fake likes is that it might attract people to like your page. Other than that, it's pretty pointless. You should consider paying for FB ads, and maybe try using the S4S method with others in your niche to gain more likes.

I would run some FB Ad's at least to get the page up and running. Even if you don't plan to keep using them, this will help it grow quicker which in return will allow you to get organic free likes, and get things moving faster.

Even if you only put your budget to only $2/day, you should be able to get 40-70 targeted Likes a day. CPC for Likes isn't much if you target properly.

For what it's worth. I created a Facebook PPC campaign that's targeted for LIKES, and it costs about $1.17/Facebook LIKE. Originally, it was around $1.60/LIKE when my budget was $30/day but got significantly cheaper when I increased that to $100/day. I'm pretty happy with the results, it definitely seems to be getting more and more cost-efficient.

Once you've gotten around 1,000 fans, that should be enough for you to pass out viral content and get shares. The way I see it: if your content isn't worth sharing, it's probably not good enough to get organic LIKES either.

I'm hoping that I'm just reading this wrong or you wrote it wrong.

Likes for a Fan Page should be very cheap. I only keep them active when they are at $0.05 or less.

The thing is, I am struggling for content, my service has not started yet, so cannot offer anything. There is only so many times I can say "watch the space". Its an sms coupon service, I am struggling for content to make ppl want to read without having actual coupon deals yet.

No much secret here, frequency builds momentum. I'm not saying that you need to be posting stuff all the time, have a plan and stick to it. 2 to 3 posts per day should be sufficient, then observe how people react and adjust.
