    For Facebook, I'm not really sure. My guess is that the new Hummingbird for Google is going to rely heavily on Google+ interaction for SEO rankings. There's already the new integration between Google+ and Youtube, so I'd be willing to bet Google is making Google+ a big priority across the web.

    those days are gone when FB links are do follow these days hey are no follow so you can'y get benefit on page ranks, but you can use Facebook to drive traffic to the website and if your service or product is good , you get the business from it.

    I think Facebook not able to increase your site rank, the link from facebook will be NoFollow. Facebook only help you to increase traffics to your site.

    If you are telling that, by posting on Facebook and increases the business pages likes we increase our keywords ranking, than it is not possible. With the help of facebook you only increase the traffic of website, you can drive quality traffic to website only. Because when you post something in facebook, than see post and link are nofollow. And nofollow links are not helpful in ranking.

    I personally don't use SMM for SEO. Instead I use Social signals for link baiting. That's for temporary but useful if you can use for right niche,
