How do you get more twitter followers?
By tweeting or just by following other people?

    Both...you have to tweet of course. And one thing that I've learned is to find a twitter account that is similar to yours with a large following and follow their followers. Make sure you follow their most recent followers only because you know that they are active. Give it about 2 weeks of doing that and then unfollow the ones who aren't following you back. Rinse and repeat.

    I only follow some of the high influence people/accounts in my niche..
    Then creating a list based on my keywords.. Then starting RT their tweets and mentioning them with 'by', 'via', etc and a hashtags..
    It kind of working very well.. I've got many followers, and one verified account followed me (hope others will follow).. Then i started to follow back them.. If kinda a backward strategies from theurbantwist's post

    both seem to be very good methods. when tweeting if you use popular #hashtags its possible to increase your following if the tweet becomes visible. following other users seem to be the best way to get followers cuz some of those users will eventually follow you back
