Facebook Page Copyright Infringement of Photos?
Many images are from the public domain, while many images are made by those who wish for them to be spread freely and seen by others, without needing credit. Many images are also offered by websites who want their images to be reposted on other web pages for free branding. The Page Name or URL in the image gives credit.
But sometimes problems can still occur.
I'm wondering about those huge Faceboook pages with several hundred thousand or millions of fans.
Do you use images from other places? If so, have you run into problems with copyright? What are the ways you deal with it?
Do you put disclaimers?
Do you put links to the original page?
Do you discuss with each one individually to come up with an arrangement?
Do you ask for permission first? Or do you act first and respond later?
Do you check to see whether others are already using the photos freely to decide using them yourself?
Have you ever been reported, and if so how many times? How do you respond?
