I am so fed up with Squidoo

I recently tried to just put up my own little lens in Squidoo in what little I knew on Squidoo because I read about it's so called "wondrous powers". Let me just say I am so fed up with them. They do not allow internet marketing, some niches to be published?

Any body else here had this similar problem?

Has anybody made money using Squidoo? Or is it only for backlink purpose?

Thanks mrrightme. If you don't mind me asking, how do you get paid there? Is it through the shared Adsense (as in do you have to share your revenue with articles base and you get half?) Around how many articles would I need to post there to make money? How much have you made there?

I really do feel the party is over for Squidoo !!!

They had their "boom" days but it is all over now.

Why not try to build your own Blogger blog. Google will give you more support than you can expect from Squidoo . . .

Sites, like Squidoo, have evolved immensely over the years....namely in response to increased pressure from Google.

As a business, it really has had no choice but to evolve. We can taught to no end how we should not be reliant on Google, but, there is no denying just how powerful they have become. Just a minor adjustment to their algorithm could (and has) literally destroyed businesses. I understand the frustration....but, remember, Squidoo, like other Web 2.0 sites, is a business. As such, they do everything they can to maximize profit. Unfortunately, when Google slap after slap claims tens of thousands of visitors that would normally arrive via search, most business owners would agressively do everything they can to gain favor in the eyes of a company (Google) that has so much power and control.

Yes, squidoo does not allow some niches. Even with the allowed niches it keeps prompting you to add content indefinitely.

And after all the hard work it may still say that the lens is not high quality and thus will not allow you to publish.

If you add amazon products even without affiliate links you may get a warning... It really is a pain...

Squidoo is not bad as it might seem from this couple of comments, but it also isn't easy as most people think or hope for...

Squidoo is just another platform you can use, with its own rules you need to learn and obey... I know we all hope there is an easy way to succeed with all the available platforms and social networks out there but that's just not the case in the real world...

If you browse around the Squidoo, you will notice many successful lenses, so it can be done, but it requires a lot of work, nerves, passion and dedication... In other words, Squidoo on itself won't help you much, except some basic advantage of get rankings in SERP a little easier and quicker, but in general you need to do all the work by yourself, including link building and traffic generation...

So, consider Squidoo as a tool that has advantages and disadvantages (just like anything else out there), learn and obey they rules and use it at your own risk

The Squidoo train left the station about 6 months ago and will not be returning.

Just do a search here and you will get all the info you need. Even the biggest Squid masters here at the forum have all but given up on it

I left squidoo a long time ago. I started to hate them after they locked most of my lenses for no reason. Now I just post all my content on my own sites.

I understand Squidoo has been forced to change because of Goog updates. There's a very nice WSO that sold very well which clearly taught the secret for pleasing Squidoo these days post-Goog updates. But I gave up on them for a different reason: it takes time, more time, and more time to keep up.

The name "squidoo" really annoys me for some reason. I tried to avoid it but eventually gave it a try due to so many people hyping it up.

It was too demanding, and I ended up giving up and looking elsewhere

Squidoo make it clear that there are certain things you can't write about.

As for everybody else saying Squidoo is done, they are right and partly wrong.

It is not a big money maker anymore and is nowhere near as effective as it was a while ago but it is still worth creating one or two lenses every now and then.

You can make a few extra dollars which is always a good thing in my book.

Squidoo is a waste of time and effort.

Please don't judge this platform by previous performance . . . check out what folks are saying now . . . today. Even one time dedicated Squidoo users have given up on Squidoo's petty restrictions and unreasonable demands.

Time was when Squidoo would welcome just about anyone to their site and were so ready to tell you how well you were doing, and award you points. Things are different today and Squidoo seems to want lock just about any Lens that does not fit.

I am led to believe that the guy at the helm of Squidoo is a master marketer . . . perhaps even a guru. If this is really the case then perhaps maybe a Squidoo facelift would be really most welcome and helpful.

I wonder if Squidoo was ever big enough in the marketplace to make the restrictions and demands that they seem happy with . . . after all it was only a place to post your pet articles and snaps.
