Good day Warriors ....

Just checking with all the clever people on here ...

If you look at FB's data use policies: https://developers.facebook.com/policy/#data

Specifically point 7:

You will not use Facebook User IDs for any purpose outside your application (e.g., your infrastructure, code, or services necessary to build and run your application). Facebook User IDs may be used with external services that you use to build and run your application, such as a web infrastructure service or a distributed computing platform, but only if those services are necessary to running your application and the service has a contractual obligation with you to keep Facebook User IDs confidential.
The way I read that, and this is where I am asking for any thoughts and guidance .... is that none of these FaceBook signup to lists plugins, or any service like it, which grabs ANY of the FB data, are legal. They are all breaking FB's TOS.

Am I misreading this in any way? I know we have VERY few lawyers on here to give definitive answers. Just asking for your, non legal, opinions.

I dont think there is anything illegal because all these require facebook permission. They go through facebook before you are asked to allow them to access your data. It would only be wrong if they bypassed facebook authorisations.

My non-legal opinion is that every one of those applications is breaking Facebook TOS. Soon enough they will crack down on each and every one of those.
