Facebook is doing this to get page owners to pay to have their posts seen in news feeds.

I would have a website with an email signup form so you "own" your fans / subscribers and can contact them whenever you want, without paying Facebook.

You then use whatever ability you have left on Facebook to try and get followers to sign up for your real message list.

As the articles state, users news feeds are becoming overwhelmed with page owners posts, so to help weed out the crap (and to make FB money) you need to pay to have your followers see your posts. Pretty much defeats the purpose of having followers or using Facebook, which ultimately means only the big corps will have Facebook pages.

The organic reach has dropped... it hasn't disappeared. I still get plenty of traffic from my fan page posts. I have seen some dip in interaction on your regular run of the mill post, but the viral posts still take off just as good as they always have.

      Yet.

That was the point of the articles. FB is saying the already dropping organic reach will end this next year and page owners will need to start paying for anyone to see their posts. At least you have fair warning, which is refreshing, so you can start thinking about how to address the situation.

Creating a newsletter is a must using Facebook or not. As you see Facebook and all other social media, as well as search engines, are uncontrollable and unpredictable. Through your news letter you have complete control. No surprises.

Check out the following link, which I found contain valuable guide on how to create a newsletter:

Of course, it's discouraging news for Facebook page owners. But, Facebook has to monetize in some way to please share holders. They can't simply keep doing business the same way, letting business page owners (who are generating traffic/earnings off the site and taking visitors OFF Facebook) to continue to get all these services for free.

I agree about monetizing but they already have ads everywhere! Cutting ones visibility down to zero from people who CHOSE to see their content is flat out wrong!
