8 Simple Steps to Turn Your Blog Posts Into an Ebook

Creating content is the heart of online marketing. You should always be providing your readers with valuable contents. Content can have different forms, blog posts, emails newsletters, Facebook posts, articles…

When working hard to create content you should make sure to maximize the benefits that you get from it. This comes when you repurpose your content, i.e. to use it in different forms.

Here is a simple 8-steps method that you can implement to repurpose your blog posts.

Why should I repurpose blog posts?

This is the first question that every blogger thinks of. If my audience is getting what they want from my blog posts why should they be interested in reading an ebook with the same posts?

There are two reasons that I can think of that will answer this question.

First, by combining your posts into one ebook you are making it easier to your reads to find what they want in one place. Your readers would be much more comfortable in downloading and reading a book that answers all their questions about a specific topic. They will find it more valuable than reading individual posts scattered over a long period of time.

Second, in the ebook you have more freedom to flesh up the material by including graphs, examples, and other supporting material making the ebook of more value to the reader.

So let’s go ahead and see how you can simply turn your already created blog posts into a valuable ebook.

Step 1 – Write a blog post to test the subject

While this might be a time intensive mission it is much simpler to test your subject with a blog post than with an ebook. Just writ a blog post about a topic that might interest your readers and see the reaction. If it does well then you can be sure that your ebook will be well received by your audience.

Step 2 – Collect all the blog posts about the same topic

Look into your archive and see what other posts you have written that falls within the topic that you ebook is about and start collecting them to be included in the ebook.

Step 3 – Use the blog posts as chapters in your ebook

Depending on the length and detail of each post you can consider each post to be one chapter of your ebook. Of course you should flesh up the content to make it of more benefit for your reader. You can add examples, charts, diagrams or whatever you find appropriate to make your chapters full of value.

Step 4 – Use updated content

Make sure that your blog posts are updated. Many of the posts might have been written a long time ago. Depending on the topic that you are writing about, this content might be outdated. Make sure that you include only updated information in your ebook.
Step 5 – Add more information to your content

I have mentioned this before, it is important for you ebook to have more value than your blog posts. You have plenty of space in your ebook to make things more useful and to add supporting information that will enrich the reader’s experience. This way he will find that he is gaining more value when reading the ebook.

Step 6 – Write your introduction and conclusion

After including your blog posts you should include an introduction and a conclusion to your ebook. Your intro should entice the reader to go on and read the rest of your ebook and your conclusion should give him action points to make use of the information that he read in the book.

Step 7 – Deign your ebook

After completing your ebook: content, intro, and conclusion go on and design your ebook. You don’t have to be fancy in designing your ebook. Keep it simple but at the same time do what you have to do to make your ebook looks good. Include all the fillers that you have used to flesh up your ebook. Use the photos, infographics, charts, etc… your ebook should look pleasant and entertaining to the reader.

Step 8 – Make you finishing touches

After completing your ebook proof read it for any grammar or spelling mistakes. Be sure to include a call to action to lead the reader into what they should do at the end of the ebook. And do not forget to promote your ebook. You don’t want your efforts to be wasted because your readers simply do not know that your ebook even existed.

Great post, turning blog posts to an ebook can also help you market your blog and increase traffic by promoting the ebook in websites where you can't directly promote your blog directly. More people would be able to see your posts. Thanks for including these simple steps.

A very good way to reuse ever green (longer, tutorial style) blog posts and let them earn even more money for you, long after they are written.
