Do paid posts on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn deliver a good ROI?

I wanted to inquire whether you believe the paid posts offered on Twitter, Facebook, and Linked are a good source of ROI, when used on the Business Page of a Lodging Operation- hotel? Can the eventual ROI from paid posts be tracked down easily?

Thank you.

You can track ROI by adding a tracking code to your social links. Only YOU can determine what the ROI is for your marketing efforts.

No one can answer this for 2 reasons. 1 whats your product, whats your post content. 2 whats a 'good' ROI (is 20% good? is 100% good? is 300% good)

What brutecky has mentioned is correct. No one can determine what 'good' ROI is. For me as long as I am making more than I am investing then I am a winner since I can reinvest what I had made for even more profit.

It also depends on your turnover rate. If you can close a sale and make profit in 30 days and you are making 10% ROI then if you keep in investing your returns you will be making around 300% in a year. Quite a good ROI.

Social networks are about people talking to people and sharing great content and ideas, not about companies promoting their products to people. Many of the best ways to use social networks don’t involve program budget; they involve brains and sweat and having your fans and friends amplify your message for you.

I've been wonder about the social networks, because all the research I see in places like MarketingCharts.com and Forrester Research say the most people are not getting good results actually marketing on Facebook, et. al.

Several times I have seen people selling FaceBook marketing systems and I challenged them because nothing I see says that people are consistently using Facebook, et. al. successfully as a marketing platform.

As stated above, I am under the belief that social media is really about creating authentic connections rather than selling things (except for groups dedicated to promotion within the membership). Correct?

Whether it works for you, I am not sure. Personally,

    1. Twitter-not enough experience with using Twitter ads. Got a little bump in retweets with the one ad I did.
    2. Facebook-use the power editor. no matter use the power editor, young skywalker. Or sponsored posts if you have a large following. But if you do pure advertising, use the power editor on Google Chrome. Always thought this was funny, but the power editor helps with your targeting. It is only available through Chrome.
    3. LinkedIn-I find LinkedIn to be too expensive for most brands. Consider the CPC for a LinkedIn ad is a minimum of $4. If you have a $47 product, you need one out of every 12 clicks to buy. Most people's conversions are not high enough to justify the price.

Provide context and I'd be happy to throw in my two cents...
