Choose your niche and go with it. I would start off by building a fan page. Invest $100 into advertising and get some viewers to your page. Start posting 2-3 viral image messages per day.

Keep active and interacting with your fans throughout the process. If yo have more to invest, you can grow your following that much quicker. If you don't, just keep consistent.

From there, you can worry about what products to sell, building a list, and branching out into other social media platforms.

First of all as a social media manager you have to be able to work 24/7 (Apart from your sleep). Besides that you have to have good knowledge how all the social networking sites work and what are their functions. You have to be creative enough to create engaging discussions to attract people. One way to increase your knowledge and credibility is be active on different forums. As a social media manager you have to be social. Learn to use external applications like hoot suite to manage all of the social media accounts under one roof. Be familiar with different types of ad tools. There is much more to advertising than that meets the eye. Blogging can be a good way to establish your credibility.

The main point here is build up your credibility. Start with small companies of your friend or family. Handle their social media accounts. Even if you don't get paid its a good way to start learning and building your portfolio.

I'm also new to the Warrior Forum and interested in learning how to use social media to help build a business. It looks like some great suggestions have been given here so far.

I am going to start working on a Facebook fan page. Would some of you experienced social media marketers share your top 3 ways of getting Facebook likes without paying for them or paying for ads?
