Have a large Facebook page about football/soccer, how to make money?

Hey guys,

I own a large Facebook page about football with more then 700,000 likes. All likes are real, nothing bought. We update it with the latest football news and funny images/video's. Most of our fans are from the UK, Asia and basicly from around the world. Posts are generally being seen by over 200,000 people.

Anyway, what would be the best way to generate income from this page? Till now, I've setup a website with football news which generates some income with adsense, but not much. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Michael

    1. Build an email list. Take them from your FB page to a some kind of free giveaway. For example, I send people from my page here: My Food GuideSkinny Jared

    2. Warm them up through a series of emails. I'm assuming you are into soccer or at least know a lot about it? Let them get to know you.

    3. Ask for a sale. Either sell a product you have developed or do affiliate sales from somewhere like clickbank.

Everything he said! This is literally a perfect blue print to revenue.

Maybe you need to check if you can find any football related affiliate programmes. I think it will work well there.

Make sure that your Adsense is optimised.

I started receiving 6x the revenue after changing the positioning of my blog's ads. You need to analyse and test different positions, formats, colours etc.

Definitely start building a list like mentioned above. You'll be able to sell consistently from that list if you are choosing the right products.

I would also add 4-5 promotion fan page posts to your weekly schedule. Promote things like Amazon products, Teespring campaigns, and CPA offers.

That's a great way to maximize fan page profits.

I am also looking into starting a football blog but I question how effective the outlined monetization methods are with a "football" audience - As far as I know adsense and gambling affiliations are the main earners but I am also interested in hearing what has worked for others

The best way would be for you to join a CPA network and constantly promote CPA offers to your fan base. For example a fan page for sports would convert well on Gaming offers, free stuff offers, Sweepstakes offers and even on surveys.
On maxbounty (a CPA affilate network) is see there are a number of offers in the above categories that target the UK. You just have to make sure the offer accepts Social traffic (You can see this when you select the offer).

To make money off of this, you just have to be creative, where by you present your offer to the fans without coming off a trying to sell them anything.
For example, you could post and image with an Arsenal and Chelsea Badge on the Day these two teams play, For example with words " Arsenal will win Todays Match, Vote Yes or No. The right Answer could win xxxx (XXX being the offer you are promoting)

Now the image should be linked not a landing page (Hosted on your own site, because Facebook can stubbornly refuse out going links directly linking to Maxbounty offers). On the landing page, you just simply thank them for the vote and ask them to click over to fill in there details for the free offer you are promoting. And it is done. With 20,000 views on such a post, assuming you promote and offer that pays $1.5 per lead, you could make some nice money.
      Just give it a try.
