Should I be posting links back to my website on facebook with

a) a bitly link (what I have been doing)
b) the full link
c) hyperlinks with new keywords

What is the best thing to do and why? I would like to build backlinks and maybe help my ranking for other keywords.. whats the best thing I could do?

I would say either is fine since Facebook isn't going to make or break your SEO campaign but personally I just use the full link whenever I'm creating links on Facebook.

To create awareness about your brand and website, use full links, so that people could know about your website directly....If use link shortened then visitor need to open the link to get to know about the website details.

First of all I would like to say that facebook backlinks can't increase keywords ranking on SERP, they are nofollow backlinks. So you can just increase your website traffic or promote your services/products on facebook to engage the targeted audience.

And use full link on your post but if you have mentioned there some words about your services or products then use short url in your comments and also add a picture with your post.

As dellrosy said - for brand awareness, use full link.

HOWEVER, when you use link shorteners, part of the authority is transferred to your website, which is good. Therefore if it's only for SEO, I recommend you to use bit.ly goo.gl and many other link shorteners you find.

The backlinks from FB are called social signals, and they indeed help your SEO.

I would agree with all previous posts suggesting full links for brand awareness.

Links from Facebook or Facebook shares do help your SEO, if done in the right way. It's part of the overall natural looking link profile that Google look for. However, it's much easier to do it in reverse, and make links from your website to rank your Facebook page for a phrase, because the links from Facebook are no follow, and also because Facebook has huge authority and is one of the easiest ways to rank, if you know how.

I always use full links for branding purposes, I doubt it's much of a SEO booster though.

For the sake of appearance, I tend to prefer bitly. Sometimes a long original URL can be really ugly and bulk up a facebook post.
