Amazon Affilates and Youtube

Whats your thoughts on embedding some random youtube video user review on the bottom of articles for products your affiliating on your niche sites for amazon?

I see the cons being people go to youtube and leave your site

I see the pros being they can actually see the product besides the pictures you stuck in your article

Does it help or hurt click through to Amazon conversions?

If you create the videos yourself, you will be able to place a link back to your website in the description of the video.

If you link to random products, make sure there aren't any affiliate links, and it's just a genuine review from a fan, otherwise you are risking your conversion rates.

I will not be making videos myself. Question is for using others videos. Since its embedded they shouldnt even go to youtube anyway.

Part of your traffic will go to YouTube for sure.

Just don't use any videos that redirect to another website or an amazon product, this will also help you with your SEO.

The ultimate solution is to open a channel for your website and do the reviews yourself, or ask your customers do it for you (in exchange of something of course)

This is an amazon niche site so I will not be buying the physical products as its a site reviewing many many products...pretend im reviewing knives where there are hundreds of different physical products in the niche.

Would I get in trouble if I downloaded some random user review from youtube, and embedded onto my site in a video player that cannot redirect...like flow player or something?

I think the aspect of video greatly helps decision making but theres no way I can review these items myself

Amazon is great because you can promote a book or cd and sometimes you sell a refrigerator or flat screen tv instead since they are cookied and you get paid for it as well.

In my opinion, I think it is a good idea if your page is lacking content other then textual. If my page is entirely word-based, then I will force myself to throw in a picture or a video.

That being said, why not create your own video of your own review of the products you are endorsing? I think this would be the best idea by far

    Good luck!

I do this all the time. Embed a video at the bottom on the post but I make sure it's one which does not carry somebody else's affiliate link.

In the long run, it provides better value to your page and to your visitors
