How to determine which social media benefits your business website?

There is a variety of user interaction that a webmaster can choose from. Forums, Comments below articles - as part of one's own website or facebook or others, twitter, you name it.

I have a mobile page and I do not want to have the screen flooded with unnecessary icons.

How do I find out in how far social media benefits my business?

You look at how other businesses in your niche integrate social media, and follow suit.

I have a search engine for companies' products, can you name a competitor and their app?

Please elaborate how to find platforms being used by buyers.

Totally agree with Victoria. Further, I'd research what media platforms BUYERS in your niche are using. Are there a lot of FB pages on your topic? Twitter feeds? Find out where the buyers are looking and you'll have narrow down your options when looking for the best platform.

I'd recommend using almost all of the major ones. But like Victoria said, make sure that there is an audience for your niche on them. The major ones you should definitely look at are

    Google+
    Twitter
    Facebook
    LinkedIn
    Pinterest
    YouTube

    and possibly

    Vine
Instagram (I'd really think about this is if you're focusing on mobile)

How you interact/use each one should be totally different also. For example on Twitter you should use it to interact with your followers on a more individual level. If you're selling a product(s), which I assume you are, you can tweet discounts or give rewards for retweets. On YouTube you should post videos related to your niche. LinkedIn should stay very professional and more formal.

I've never tried Google+ and I don't know anyone (in my personal life) that has even touched it. So I can't really help you there.

Don't be worried about your mobile site being flooded with icons. Just make sure they're placed strategically and not giant icons you should be fine.

You might not even need to post all of your social media icons onto your page. Just have a link to your Twitter/Facebook for sure and then use those to cross promote your other pages. Twitter/Instagram/Vine work together perfectly for example.

For YouTube just share your YouTube videos on your Twitter/Facebook. Posting YouTube videos on a mobile site rarely works out very well from what I've seen.

    Best of luck to you!
