Hosting giveaways on Facebook

We want to make it a habit of running giveaways on our Facebook business page but there is no way to contact the winner! How can you get in touch with the winner from your business page? There has to be a simple solution, or is Facebook really going to be THAT annoying?

Correct me if I am wrong but if you are running giveaways on your FB business page then dont you have the FB id of the person who wins? Just PM them no?

Well, I will have the id of the winner however I can only contact them with my personal account and not through the business name. I would rather not have my personal info floating around after every contest. Also, if the winner is not one of my personal friends, the message will go to their "other" inbox which most people do not check. I cannot even tag them through the business page. There is really no way to directly notify them through the business page. There must be some type of workaround...

    You have a few options

    1. Create a "business profile" - just like a regular personal profile. This is a good additional way to get even more audience for your project. You can use this account to message the winner if you got his ID.

    2. Announce the winner on the facebook page, and pin the post to the top, ask the user to contact you.

    3. Announce the winner in your blog/website.

General advice is to TELL users how the winner will be picked (for example use random.org), and also tell them WHERE it will be announced, and WHEN. This way they can check.

    Good luck

Hey thanks, good info! I am using "woobox" which is a facebook app and randomly chooses a winner based on likes and or comments. I screen recorded the random winner selection process and uploaded it to the fb post.

Wait, I just realized that I still wont be able to contact them even from a "business profile" since they have to be a friend or else the message goes to their non-monitored "other inbox". I do not want the winner to have to publicly list his/her email address either. If I put our email address, anyone can contact and say they were the winner. LoL, whats the solution?

Just add them as friends as well, they will know what it is about.

Just make sure to announce WHERE the winner will be announced. If the winner doesn't show up in 1 week, choose another winner. Simple as that.

    Yes, yes they can.

However, you ahve to allow them. Check out your page settings. You can either allow or disallow your fans to be sending you messages. I recommend you turn it on, as this is the onliest way people to contact you privately.
