Duplicate content for Youtube video descriptions

Hey everyone. I'm getting ready to post a video to Youtube after reading through a couple WSO's and some information that I've gotten here on WF on how best to optimize for rank. In terms of the description for the video, the general consensus I've read is to use all available character space to promote the video using the proper keywords, links to site, and etc.

Would it be wise to use an article from my website for a good portion of the description or does Google consider that duplicate content as well?

    Of course it's duplicate content. It's been already posted.

    However, that might not have any impact on your videos ranking, as YouTUbe videos are having huge authority.
    I would consider spinning the article anyway

      I'm agree with yoangov. You can make changes to the content but do not use the duplicate content. So avoid using duplicate content.

    Thanks guys, that's what I thought as well. One of the WSO's I got a hold of said it wasn't a big deal to use an article from somewhere else for the description. My BS detector went up and I wanted to check it out.

    It's in your visitor's best interest to provide a unique and accurate description for the video. Also, the description box is another place you can showcase your own personality and speak directly to the person who will be watching the video. Take the time to make an emotional connection with this ideal viewer and address some of the ways your video will be solving their needs.

    If you are an article writer by your self then write one more article it can help you more because you provide a unique content that's why people interesting to learn more info about anything if you spun it then most of the things of your article would be same and as above says that don't use duplicate.

    I wouldnt recommending spinning the content in the description.
    At the end of the day your final target is the viewer and not the Google.
    What's the point to get visitors from Google to you tube video but when the viewer reads a spinned article which he is unable to understand, he will simply leave your video without taking any action. So this spinned article hasn't done you anything good.
    Be creative here.
    Write some thing good here in the description for the sake of your video watcher.
    Let him read your description and your call to action and let him take action and let yourself enjoy the revenue from that viewer.
