Will Friends See My FanPage Or My Ads (Facebook)/

I want to run Facebook ads for my personal consulting business (academic related). At the same time I'm little embarrassed and I don't want my friends-to see what I'm doing. If I create a fan page and start running ads too, will my friends
see this activity?

I would create a separate account, but I was reading its against FB TOS.

Please answer only if you're sure. It just seems like friends see everything so I have a hard time accepting they won't see my business fanpage or ads?
#ads #facebook or #fanpage #friends

Create a fan page for the business within your account then advertise from the page. Your friends won't see your ads unless their part of your target audience (which they probably aren't).

This is what I have heard as well, though I can't say it for 100% sure. But I believe it to be true.

You dont need to create separated account, just create a fanpage will do. If you never invite your friends to this page, no one will see it. Also true that no one that arrives on your fanpage know what your real personal account is too.

I did this and the minute I published the fanpage I had 5 likes from my friends so they must have seen it.

I just created a whole new profile on FB for business with an alias and do my fanpages through that instead.

Don't create more than one personal account. This is against tos. You will need a personal account to tie your payment method to.

Agree with coolguy - its impossible to tell page admins for outsiders

No, i don't think your friends will see it. I created a fan page and only those who Ive invited see it. But your ad's target audience will show up randomly on millions of other facebook users, so it will be a really tiny chance that your friends will see the ad.

Out of interest - why would your friends see what you are targetting ? Do they overlap?

when ever you post or share, you must do it as your fan page. It will give you that option in the drop down once you hit post or share.

If you are advertising from your fan page, your fans will never see your ads.
They can only see your Ads if they are part of your targeted audience.

      Hi,

Your friends won't see that you've created a page by default as pages and personal profiles are completely separate. When you create a page, Facebook will give you the option to let your personal friends know about it, however, you're not required to do this.

Also, your friends won't see any future Fan Page posts that you make because you'll make these posts as your page, and not from your personal account.

When it comes to ads, your friends won't see them unless they happen to be part of the demographic you're targeting.

Even if they are part of this demographic, and they see your ad and click through to your Fan Page, they still won't have any way of tracing the page back to your personal profile.

I hopr this makes sense and explains everything,

Just for future reference, the information I posted above does not apply to Groups. If you create an open group, your friends will be able to trace it back to you since Groups are directly linked to personal accounts.

So, if you want to keep your business and personal lives completely separate, you'll a;ways want to choose a Fan Page over a Group.

Don't 'LIKE' your Fan Page. Your friends will see this and thats why they 'like' it after you. it will come up on your status that 'you' liked a page. hope this helps
