I am about to set up FB...questions:
1) MUST I have a personal FB page or can I only have business pages.
2) Do you use your own name on the business page or your company name?
3) Can I set up a promotion on my business page " Name this XXX? and send them to my website?
4) Do you recommend having your own PIC on a business page?
5) HOW do you market more than one product/service ( entirely different niche) on the business page

I bet there is more...BUT thanks for the above,
Serry

    Hey Serry,
I'll do my best to answer these:

You need a personal FB account to become an Admin on a fanpage.
    2) Do you use your own name on the business page or your company name?
Use business name unless your biz name is named after you. Lol. Or, you can employ the strategy of promoting yourself and getting followers since lot's of people love engaging with real personalities rather than a brand. You can then channel you're fans toward any business you want.
    3) Can I set up a promotion on my business page " Name this XXX? and send them to my website?
You can easily put links in your posts directing back to your site. For promotions you have to be-careful of FB's TOS. But you can setup an app that leads fans to your website. You can post linking to your app or directly to your page as often as you like.
    4) Do you recommend having your own PIC on a business page?
Your choice. If you want a personal level engagement (usually stronger) then yeah use your pic otherwise you don't need to. A lot of brand pages don't use personal photos. There's that saying ~ your page should be about the visitors not you, answer: "What's in it for them?" I would put up a pic/timeline cover which best helps me answer that question to the visitor.
    5) HOW do you market more than one product/service ( entirely different niche) on the business page
I find that if you're posting daily then you can incorporate 70/30 strategy. 70% relevant content and 30% marketing related. FB is tricky bcz more you post irrelevant content your engagement will go down which will negatively affect your edgerank and then FB bully-ism will totally start pi$ you off. Lol.

I bet there is more...BUT thanks for the above,
    Serry

My pleasure Serryjw and thank you.
Can you elaborate on what "graphics" fully entail?

To help you out I think you need to provide a bit more info first:
        1. How much time can you allocate towards managing your page and engaging with your fans on a daily basis? - the reason I ask this is because you seem very motivated to "sell" your product on a platform that is "engagement" centered.
        2. Who are majority of your customers (buyers)? age/sex/geo/industry
        3. Why Facebook if you don't mind me asking? Is it sales, branding or both that you are after?

        Cheers

INFIMIS I think I am going to stick with only Google+ & LINKEDIN> I think FB is so complicated. I am ONE person. It is an awful lot of work to 'engage' verses 'sell'.

MY needs are different than most. I am retired on social security. I am ONLY looking to supplement it, NOT makes big $$$ or build a LT business.

Thanks to you & Mark for your help!

Relevant content is simply whatever would be of interest to your potential buyers. For example, let's say that your buyers would be people who need graphics for their projects but can't create them on their own. Maybe they'd be interested in learning the differences between graphic formats, or getting tips on good design practice using graphics, or learning how to use editing software. Or even learning about the composition of a good graphic. I'm not a graphics person, so I'm just brainstorming here.

For me, I'd go with this:
    1. You can create a personal FB and your business page. When people check out a business, they tend also to research about the owner.
    2. Company name
    3. Don't hesitate to create games and promos. It's very popular on social media strategies
    4. Why not the logo of your business instead?
    5. You don't. You should only market with the same niche. So that the interested customers don't get pissed off when they see a totally different product.

    Hi Serry,

    1) You need personal account and then make yourself admin of that page, you can also add more admins, moderators or analysts for your page.
2)Yes of course you can do it. That is what I do as well.
3)Its better to have your own.
4)Concentrate more on the product your page is about but it doesn't stop from promoting other stuff but make other stuff minimal. Don't over do it as you never know of Face Book.

All the best mate with your page.

yes personal page is always important, this way you'll have a strong presence
you can use your company name if you want your company to be remembered every where
people don't care about owner's pic, they need a good brand
for different niche products, you can create different categories to avoid confusion
