Is it a good practice to repost your best content?

Most of my blog posts are the standard 500 words, but I have some 2,000 word articles with top tier content that form the "core base" of my free information. I have about 10 such articles and am thinking of reposting one of them each week, though I'm concerned of upsetting people who've already read it. (I would have at least 1 fresh new post per week also)

Does anyone do anything similar? Have you seen a decrease in engagement from reposting the same articles?

Yes you can re-post your best content, and it works well to get more engagement. But it should have a good amount of time difference between the repost and the previous post.

Re posting your best content is always a good idea. Be sure you mention its a re post to alert your old subscribers. Try adding "for those who missed" something like that

Sure thing Delta! Go for it. I repost 2-3 times weekly at times to drive traffic. People live in different time zones and read stuff at different hours, or miss your stuff at times.

I do this frequently since I post 5 times daily; folks miss my content at times.....gotta drive those prying eyes to my best stuff.

No doubt you can repost your content which may be welcomed by number of new readers. The thing to be kept in mind is that there should also be new and fresh content so that people don't get bore.

I think it's a good idea if your content is really good. But still do the long enough breaks between one and the same content.

It might be good to repost your best content for your new fans to see it. However, I also agree that it would upset people who have already read it, and might think that you're spamming them! So do not overdo it!

  • Hmm i am going to go ahead and disagree with everyone. Yeah it's OK to re-post good content. But why not generate MORE good content instead? But you can re-post your content.. Just don't turn it into a habit

Reposting is totally alright because not everyone would have seen your post the first time. However, don't repost it multiple times a day. Multiple time a week is fine, but make sure you do something different each time. Here are some things you can try -

    1) Change your description. When you post on a social network, you add a short description about the post so that people click on it. Try out different descriptions each time.
    2) Update content. Try updating some of the content in your post. Maybe change something or add something new. Then when you repost you can tell everyone it's been updated.
    3) Retarget. Let's say you write a post on 'Social media marketing for e-commerce stores'. You have three different audiences that you can target with each separate repost - social media experts, marketers, and e-commerce owners.
    4) Answering comments. If there's an interesting set of comments on your post, you can repost it to social networks, tag the commenter and involve your followers in the conversation

I agree with the others. 'Remarketing' is the way to go.It's good for indexing, sharing and hits. Social Media Planning Template is one of the best resources for marketing techniques. This template includes information about major products and services of your business.
