The new trend in Facebook marketing

I'm so sick of spam, especially since 99% of it comes from a certain country beginning with I and ending in A. What a bunch of lowlifes.

Here is what they do: they set up a page and literally repost the same stuff as a popular page. I have pages that I have worked my butt off to build over the years and all these new pages do is repost my posts moments after - with no credit to my page. Their pages are filled with my viral content/memes and there is virtually nothing I can do about it. They don't share or give credit or acknowledge that it is not their content - they just steal and repost.

This whole IM field is just sickening. After a decade in it, despite making a living at it, I'm fed up with the bottom of the barrel ethics and theft. Anyone interested in IM should think long and hard before committing any time to it. Everyone is out to rip you off: Facebook with its bait and switch (spend $ on ads to build a following and then have to spend $ to reach them), copycat Facebook pages, spammers, "gurus" who want to sell you some stupid $1,000 program, dishonest affiliate companies that retarget their ads once you send traffic there (which nullifies your cookie) and so on.

why don't you just put your fb page link inside the meme image. sure they can take it out, but at least they'll have to work harder to do it.

Plus if they're automating this and you throw in some product promotional type posts you get to advertise to their following for free.

FB link inside the meme is virtually worthless.

the part that is killing me is the organic reach, what the **** is the point of having followers if i can't even reach them?

Organic reach is abysmal. I have some pages that are hovering at 2%. Two frickin' percent! I mean, at least give my post a chance to get some exposure before you decide it's not worthy of reaching all my fans. It's virtually impossible to go viral when only 2% see a post. It's like trying to run a race with a 100 lb weight on your ankles. 20% would be more reasonable so that the post has a chance to be seen.

Even my best pages, the ones that have a highly engaged following and that have great viral posts, still barely reach 20% of the fans. And that's for top-notch pages. God help the ordinary pages that don't have lots of cute baby and cat photos. 2% is going to be the norm for them.

I can indeed relate to your frustration, however it do seems like Facebook is taking these issues serious and want to get rid of all this news feed spam (give the spammers a much lower reach): https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2014/04...ews-feed-spam/
