You need a clear plan to optimize your website. You can only create articles on which you are expertise. Jumping into making backlinks without any plan will discredit your website by Google. You need to start gradually and with quality links. Everyday I am receiving couple of emails asking me to remove their profile as Google discredit them for the link they added in the profile.

Serious content creators know that each IT company article they publish is very significant task for marketing. It must be a knowledge hub that has authentic, useful information on a specific topic.
To help you out with this. Below are the lists of articles you can write for your website or blog. This would give you a bit of inspiration if you are struggling -
    1. Lists of tips or ideas. Numbered lists work well.
    2. Reviews of books that you recommend
    3. 'How to' subjected articles
    4. Your observations on news that's relevant to your clients.
    5. 'Why?' associated articles
    6. Articles stating the benefits of your recommended approach.
    7. Your feedback to a question that your prospect client asked.
    8. Add a seasonal twist - refer to a recent celebration or seasonal event
    9. An interview with one of your clients or customers
    10. A critique of someone else's article or opinion, with your view.
    11. Review what you learned from a recent talk, industry conference or event.
    12. Ask other experts a question and share their response.
    13. A case study demonstrating the success.
    14. Conduct a survey and share the response

I would suggest Press Release and video content. You can also share computer repair or relevant tips and post it in various Web 2.0 sites, article directories but most of all relevant websites.

All of the ideas above are superb, but I second the first poster (pun retrospectively intended)
in saying that you should create a content plan before you even start. Maybe a monthly theme? As far as my own observations have been of late in IT (though IT is a very varied field) that cloud computing and small business are hot topics.

Answer your customers questions. Figure out their pain points and solve them. Create videos and how-to articles on specific issues related to your customers. It seems to me that there would be tons of content ideas for your niche.

Accenture wrote its report on the survey as a kind of wakeup call for big companies. If they don’t encourage innovation, they are at risk of driving their most innovative employees out the door and losing their edge to foreign competition.
