Help! How to know if Reddit AD stats are accurate?

Hey guys,

I'm starting to test advertising on Reddit, and so far, the numbers Reddit gives are good: low cpc, high enough ctr...

But the number of click Reddit gives, and the ones reported in Google Analytics, Woopra, Mixpanel, AND Piwik are different.

I use the Url Builder, and have the campaign parameter set: /?utm_source=reddit.com&utm_campaign=campaign2

Reddit says I had 90 clicks, and the analytics services say I had around 40 visits from that campaign.

Two possibilities:

1. Reddit stats are inflated

2. Too many people are using anti-tracking services that makes tracking referrals impossible. (services like Ghostery or Disconnect)

What do you think is the case? Please help if you have experience with tracking ad performance.

I can confirm that I have the same suspicion - the Reddit stats are not accurate to say the least. However it's very hard to prove that they do it intentionally.

Thanks for your input! You're right, it's hard, since they don't allow you to submit redirect links like goo.gl or bit.ly... that manually count the number of hits.

Anyone else has experience with Reddit?
