facebook become useless unless you pay!

FB has slashed down the reach.

its useless to have fan pages with reach to 2-5 %.

All you need is to pay to reach your fans. just like google ads

no more charm left at FB, Time to pack up bags and see an alternative.

Yes because I think Facebook is cleaning up suspicious spammy links: Facebook is Cleaning Up News Feed Spam

There's still a way. All we need is "engagement".

This is going to be a hard part to get ZERO paid reach. But we can do this manually engaging to other pages (similar to your page).

Page owners and their fans would notice and start engaging to your page and post if you're actively engaging to theirs.

Fb is totally the paid media now they want all the pages to go with Facebook ad otherwise the organic reach will slowdown. The new algorithm of Facebook has already shown this.

Even now a days they want to give like by payment. Though i think it useless. More often you will get like from people they don't care about the liking just like anything so no engagement total waste of money.

Even sponsored posted are useless they may give you like but chances are that it to turn in lead is quite a less.

I hope more and more people start packing their bags.... I get leads from fb daily by directly engaging with people of interest.

If everyone who won't work at making the new fb work for them i sjust going to leave more leads on the table for the rest of us.

Adapt and overcome... your bank account will thank you for it

Well said . Quality over quantity. People will "like" anything, it doesn't mean they are engaged in it. Get quality relevant "likes" and then you can expand to their friends.

You'll find complainers no matter how well a system works generally. FB engagement ain't easy sure but it can be done. My local Facebook marketing students and clients are doing pretty well on FB engagement and they're not even online marketers!

Just a few lessons showing them what they need to do and how and they're getting engagement as high as 40% - 60% with PLAIN TEXT posts in some cases, so not just images go massively viral or get high engagement. If you post SENSIBLE material read that as material that MATTERS to your specific audience you'll GET high levels of engagement.

And yep they're also getting LEADS. Some FB pages I've built get leads as fast as within minutes of putting up the pages with ZERO FB ads besides LIKE ads. Just post up content your audience won't turn up their nose to either out of disgust or disinterest and you are more than likely going to get great FB engagement leads and even customers in the long run.

My guess is the guys crying into their milk post up ads all day long and extra ads on Sunday or their content is simply not interesting enough to catch and keep attention, or they have a bunch of fake LIKES added on their page or a number of other reasons that can't be blamed on FB's algorithm or the fact they pretty much force Pages to boost posts.

I've seen my own content recently register as high as 78% engagement in half a day and it was all 100% organic reach. I've not made money directly from offers I've posted yet but I've gotten clients for different services indirectly simply BECAUSE of how well they see my FB pages doing.

Is FB perfect? Uh what on earth is? ;-) But it sure can be a great source of income directly or indirectly if you would just do FB marketing the way FB marketing works best not the way you THINK it should work. Nuf said.

My local soccer site has 1300 local fans on Facebook. Every post from my website that I share on my facebook page is seen by at least a couple hundred people. Interaction and engagement is outstanding.

I'm also looking at a client's fan page right now. It has 400 likes and his last post (last night) had a reach of 27% (108).

For the reasons above, I simply don't get what all the commotion is. I don't know where this 1%, 2%, 5% stuff is coming from but it has definitely not been my experience at all.

It is the same for profile's as well now but if you get engagement on posts then your post's will be shown to more people. There are a few Facebook Syndication Tribe Groups (you can find them on Facebook by searching Facebook Syndication Tribe in Facebook) which are good to get more engagement on your posts. Also going to other Fan Pages with high engagement in the same niche and commenting as your Fan Page can help also. Hope this helps

This was always going to happen. Incorporation basically forces them to focus on profits to the exclusion of everything else. It was their choice to take on investors in the first place, though.

The problem they're facing is that people don't want to be advertised to on Facebook, so they're scrounging to raise money in other ways.

    Your 1/2 correct.

Facebook fan pages are becoming useless. Facebook itself is still a marketers dream. You might be surprised to learn that Facebook is A LOT more than just fan pages.

You're thinking about leaving a TOP traffic source because you have to start paying? It seems to me that your business can't be scaled and that your business model isn't quite there. This isn't a knock on you, but if you're going to let something like that easily move you, then you won't last long in business.

The fact is, business changes, policies change, rules change. The only thing that is constant is change. If you can't adapt, you won't make it. But if you can, you'll zig and zag and will make more money because all the fake businesses left which opened up even greater opportunity for you.

Fanpages are still worth it... extremely worth it.

And paying for ads is worth it... extremely worth it.

That is, if you've got your numbers dialed in and you've got a real business.

In my opinion this is a natural development for Facebok, as it's getting more mature. As it's also a public listed company, they obviously also got the pressure on them to increase revenue. As others here are saying too, real user engagement is the key. All those post begging for likes, link bait, etc. will see a decrease in reach, while real, genuine content that excites and engage users, will keep having a decent reach. It's comparable to the evolution of Google search in many ways. Years back it was pretty easy to rank high on a keyword, by using nasty blackhat tricks. Gradually Google got smarter and no real quality content is much more important.

It depends on your FB Page. I agree that now facebook even take money for likes. I think if some active users will like your page then it's worth your effort.
