Facebook fan page reach for the last 2 days

Is anyone else seeing an extreme lack in reach? Even on one of my pages which is branded very well (used to get a lot of comments and such) the reach has went to crap.

My posts were averaging 70-125 likes, 5-20 comments, and 10-25 shares last week. Now I am at about 5-10 likes, 0-2 comments, and 0-1 shares per post.

It's not the quality of my content either. You can see the huge number drop in "people who saw this".

I really think since the whole ViralNova trend of websites broke out, Facebook significantly limited fan page reach with new algorithms.

You right! Facebook want page to promote so they can make more money that why they have changed the algortihm but they will says that they want to improve the quality of newsfeed so user get what they want.

      I agree.

I've been focusing on using Facebook to build a fan page for the past month or two and my posts have MAYBE been getting a 5% reach.

While that ratio kind of sucks, I also think it's still worth building a fan page - but not spending too much money on it. 4% reach on a fan page with 10,000+ active fans isn't that bad for "free" advertising purposes.

I have been marketing on facebook since about 2011 and have noticed the changes in reach overtime. However, over the last 2 days, it seems to have hit an all time low.

Remember the post @ https://newsroom.fb.com/ a few days ago?

I was not worried at all because my pages do nothing they listed. However, I was hit really hard.

    Here's an example.

An average post a few days ago

    A average post from yesterday

This, IMO, is insane. You can see my page is branded and was fairly active. I also had no link baiting, no spam, etc

and if you think the above is bad. I have a 16k quotes site that was very active and is now getting 8-10 likes a post.

All the viralnova-like pages seem to be fine, yet they were the pages the new update was supposed to wipe out? Epic fail on facebook's part.

Slapdot I think your above images are great. I have been seeing MUCH less meme's and solo images from company's in my news feed lately compared to past years of Facebook.

    You think thats bad ?

    That's today 16/04/14

Now that is F*** up . My page has 450k likes . I had one of the best pages before the reach drop . Earnings dropped with 50%

Its stupid .. first you pay to get the likes then you need to pay for people to see !

Damn. That's a huge drop man. I think that with Facebook's new algorithms...they will leave open other new opportunities to increase reach. There probably are people who have already figured out the methods but obviously aren't sharing.

It's up to us to figure out those opportunities for ourselves.

It's Facebook's site/business to do as they please.
But what I have a problem is this: They encouraged every page owner to run ad campaigns for likes, owners were encouraged to do so in order to grow their pages and REACH more people.

Now, they've pulled a bait and switch of sorts, telling page owners that if you want to reach those fans you've already paid to acquire, pay again.

The last thing I read was that Facebook is using its algorithms to drop down organic reach to 2% to motivate businesses to start paying for reach. Of course there are ways around it, like: post more often, use more pages, have a network of people who would share your updates etc.
