Respectable price for Social media management

Hi everyone,

I currently offer social media management and marketing as a part-time freelance business opportunity.

I'm unsure whether my price is fair as it is so varied, some companies offer anything from £70 - £120 a month, whereas others can offer anything from £500 - £1200.

What would you say a respectable price is, obviously these are still both cheaper than employing someone to control social media internally...

Thanks

    Hi kalumduncan.

You might want to take a look at those other services and see exactly what they're offering. Some services may post 1-3 times per week per network, others might post 5x per day. Our basic SMM package consists of creating branded profile pages so that the client is branded across all chosen platforms, content selection/creation, and posting 4 times per day for 5 week days. Cost for 2 platforms is just under $1500 US for setup a $597 per month and rarely do we have anybody quibble.
If you want to go with higher priced services, you probably should target higher quality clients (like dentists, accountants, doctors,) rather than the average small business.

      Hi Kalumduncan,

when you are looking at your price, look at what you can offer them and how much that will be worth to them. That is not always as easy, especially if you are just creating an online presence and not create direct sales, but ask yourself what your work is worth.

And as Salty Dogma said not everyone offers the same package. Certain companies can charge more for more quantity or better quality.

It all depends on what is included in your price. Do you produce the content on behalf of your client, or do the client provide you with content and you just pist it? Do you offer any maximum response time on responding to requests from users through social media?, etc.

Maybe you can try to make some estimations on how much time per week you would in average have to spend on a given client and then probably add at least 20-30% overhead. Then it's just to multiply this by your hourly rate and you got a fairly good estimation on what you should charge for your service.
