How are people still targeting FB users by name to promote Teespring campaigns?

I'm still seeing Teespring T-shirt campaigns that are wildly successful with the most basic of t-shirts. Shirts like 'It's a Charles Thing...You Wouldn't Understand" hit 300+ sales.

Now, I think this is awesome. I'm highly supportive of successful marketing campaigns, but I'm wondering how people are still able to target custom audiences by name? I thought Facebook stopped approving those CA's due to breaching the TOS.

I thought this was a trend that would be shut down by now but it looks like Teespring shirts with names are healthy.

All them are old campaigns. Facebook didn't ban some accounts but they can't run new ads.

I got 3 rejected custom audiences because of this! It no longer works! There's a workaround to still use custom audiences targeting names. But I don't think it's worth it! It might work for a while but it's not a long-term formula for success in Teespring. And you might get your Facebook account banned!

Some people are still able to get away with it by continually getting new fb accounts. But that's not a long-term gig, and they definitely know it.

Wouldn't you rather play within FB's TOS and be here next year, 2 years from now 5 years from now?

I would. There's definitely a ton of untapped niches still with FB and teespring. Just have to put your thinking cap on and go exploring.

I agree JCorp, which is why I stopped doing the name campaigns as well. Once my ads stopped showing impressions, I didn't try making any other ones. I'm still playing around with other options now to hopefully hit a winning campaign that will work.

Still, it was a fun feeling having two of my campaigns tip right at goal before FB pulled the plug on showing my ad any further. lol.

Still wondering and I've heard mixed thoughts... is it better to do ads to Website Clicks, or to set up a fan page and use Page Post Engagement to pull some possible sales? I've used Page Post Engagements to get some of the sales I did, but other than the name shirts, I've not had another shirt hit goal yet otherwise.
