How to lower CPC when using optimized CPM on Facebook

When using optimized CPM on Facebook, is the only way to lower the CPC by increasing CTR.

Is there a good approach to manually lowering CPC when doing optimized CPM?

Thanks.

If you want to manually lower, and be in charge of your CPC, simply go for CPC.

If you want Facebook to do some optimization for you, then go with OCPM or Optimized for clicks and let them handle it... and you focus on increasing your CTR through images and ad copy.

But once you get going, you'll realize that though CTR is a good metric, it isn't everything to a profitable campaign.

Yes, with optimized CPM the only way to lower CPC is by increasing CTR. You can bid for CPC to get cheaper clicks but you usually have to to start with a high bid to get the ad going and slowly decrease it to the point where it stops getting shown. My ads always have a harder time getting going when I do CPC too. From my own personal experience I've had better results with optimized CPM because I split test my ads and can usually get a pretty high CTR anyways.
