Facebook CPC suggested bid range INCREDIBLY way off

Hello guys,

I started a facebook CPC campaign and it suggested to bid from $.15 to $.25

I always like placing my bid a little over the higher suggested number, to make sure my ad gets delivered, so I placed my max bid at .35.

However... my ad went for 2 days straight without being delivered... maybe 3-5 impressions per hour.

I increased my max CPC bid to $5.. just to see what would happen, and my ad began to show immediately.

When I checked again facebook's suggested bid it now showed $1 - $2.1...

Why did it change? Why was it not showing the right bid range from the beginning?

Bidding over $2 would yield negative ROI for me.

Thanks

That always happens. For some reason I'll select my target and then choose a different one. I'll go right back to the previous one and it'll give me a different range. It's like it just spits out numbers around that area.

I've actually optimized for likes and have seen better results getting 5$ CPM than going with the suggested bid. Enough to the point that I'm getting .03 fans and .01-.02 clicks.

Facebook recommends using the OCPM... they get more money from it plain and simple. But it's also good for the advertiser when you know how to use it.

You might be seeing different ranges for CPC as it's always different depending on the niche/market, time of day, etc.

When using OCPM, FB will bid for you, usually bidding higher, BUT more optimized for your objective.

So, try using OCPM and see the data with a low ad spend to gauge results.

Sometimes FB Ads starting bid are weird. So you just have to counter it. See this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/social-m...ebook-ads.html
