Tell me why I should have a Facebook page for this blog

It doesn't sell anything. There are no ads to click. No affiliate links. Why should I set up a Facebook page for this site Adventures of Brian and Dee?

For more exposure and website traffic. But if traffic isn't important don't bother because it does take time.

You mention on your blog that you'd like to get a book deal... if that's the case, it wouldn't hurt your chances if you had say 100,000 active Facebook fans.

If you don't see a purpose to it, don't do it. It seems like most people put up a Facebook page because they were told they had to for whatever reason. They don't invest any time or energy into it and -- not surprisingly -- it doesn't go anywhere.

With the new algorithms, a Facebook page is a lot of work if you want to ensure that some amount of people actually see your posts. If you don't have a compelling reason to create a FB page, I doubt that you'll bother spending the time necessary to get your page off the ground anyway. If that's the case, I'd just concentrate on making your website the best it can be.

It can't hurt to set one up. If you're going through all that effort to blog, why not promote it basically for free on FB?
