Is Optimized CPM Giving Me Fake Likes?

Been working on building the amount of likes for a page I have. I'm running targeted ads in the US and I've mainly been using the oCPM to help get likes because I've always found oCPM ads are easier to get running and most advertisers seem to favor it anyways.

The point is that Facebook serves the ads to people most likely to like your page, right? Wouldn't that mean you'd attract fake accounts who "like" everything?

I've been looking at some of the pages of people who've liked my page and many of them have likes in the thousands!

I'm still somewhat new with FB ads, but is there anyway to better target people with only a few likes? Or to better avoid any fake accounts?

    Check properly. Most of the likes are from Philippines!

      Wrong. If you target the US, you get legit US fans.

    The best way to get around it, is to be more specific with your targeting.

    I'm sure there are fake accounts liking as many pages as possible to look legit in the U.S too.

    Try using more targeted interests and add a few behaviors too.

    FB's oCPM deals with CTRs/Impressions and decides what's the best bang for your buck within your budget.

      You are always likely to get a small number of fake likes with any targeting. This is not a problem you can do much about other than working to get the highest return out of your ads. I don't do any ads for likes now from the US because I would rather send people to my website but I do always run ads for likes globally to increase the number of likes on my Facebook page.
