Facebook vs. All Social Media sites

I am a bit frustrated about this, but, a lot of people say that Facebook is not for internet marketing. Can you please help me how to decide what social media site to use for selling products?

Facebook is pretty decent for any type of marketing. You just need to know how to use it, as in promoting a post or doing a campaign. Promoting a post has the best return on results if your using a picture, and a catchy ad.

Thanks! Can you give me a hint on how do I make my ads 'Catchy'? That's the thing I've been contemplating about...

Nobody goes shopping in social media.

They go shopping in Ebay, Amazon ...

        Think about it.

        Social media is for FUN.

You really need cool things to share - not sale sale sale sale.

If they find you cool, they follow you.

        That is when you offer.

I wrote an article name "Bittersweet" talking about it. People hate me and it is so awesome. It is in Facebook.

        I like Facebook.

I don't like other social media things.

        Focus.
I must agree with what you have said. However, we might get prospects (and may soon be customers) in Facebook because it is the 2nd most visited website according to wikipedia. So, millions of people are using it. But, I like how you see the real purpose of Facebook.

Well, advertising yes. You can make a page of your online shop and post pictures of your wonderful crafts. It's not a shopping avenue in itself. But the point here is that you can make it happen.

Here's an idea I had just now. Independence Day in US is around the corner and since it's 2014 You could have a play on words having July 4, '14.

Well, no one can teach you creativity but you can be exposed to a lot of creative works and artists. You should try that.

  • You go to Facebook to promote your products and establish your brand. As to how to make your ads catchier, it would depend on your niche. You'll have to do A/B testing on your ad to know for sure.

I think with the proper training, you can learn to utilize facebook into a profit machine, people follow you, then you direct them to your store with each post, they buy your product and you profit. It's simple and people are making six figures with that simple stratagy

All social media platforms can work well for online marketers. Its just that the approach would have to be different from the rest. Like for Facebook, you would need to get as many likes and comments for your content to get noticed.

I agree. I'm starting to create a fan page for it. However, I am new with this kind of business. How do I get likes from other people aside from my friends in Facebook?

I've heard of that from some successful people I have met. Should I FORCE people to like and share a fan page of mine?

My brother told me to use videos, too, for advertising and promoting, but that's more expensive. Do people nowadays, prefer photos rather than videos? Because it seems like you need to press 'Play', obviously..

You should use every social media where you can reach your audience. If your audience resides on Facebook, then it has to be Facebook. Although their algorithms worsen, Facebook is not that bad for promotion and establishing your brand name yet. But if you want to be effective, analyze your product carefully before starting any campaign.

Facebook is probably the best for IM. The level of targeting and optimisation available is second to none. People that tell you otherwise are just eliminating competition.

Facebook and other social media can be great for marketing, but it depends on what is being sold and how you are marketing it.

Your social media profile shouldn't constantly be selling to followers. Instead, it should be posting interesting content related to your product and genuinely interacting with other on the site.

I really believe that your 'niche' will determine which social media site will work best for your brand. I manage two Twitter sites, but one is really best for b2b. I manage 2 FB sites and one is better for personal and individuals instead of b2b.

No one can tell you hey, this is what is going to work for you best. You must open accounts across different platforms and then test each one out over a period of 30-90 days. You will see for yourself which platform works best for your niche.

You can see results on Facebook, but you can't market aggressively. People aren't in buying mode. It's a great way to introduce potential customers to your brand. Look at it this way: if you can expose people to your brand enough times, a good percentage of them will eventually click through to your offer. It takes time, though.

Build a community around your product or service and provide value. Don't just bleat about your product or service 24/7—no one cares yet.

Also, at the end of the day, although we know that Facebook has us over a barrel, buying likes from them is an effective way of seeding a community.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

  • Facebook isn't a bad source of promotion. You can add beautiful images, promote videos & improve your brand visibility. If you aren't aware, there's something you should know. Although Google can't see most Facebook posts, its likely they consider the number of Facebook likes a page receives as a ranking signal. But Facebook shares, which are more similar to backlinks, may have a stronger influence than Facebook likes.

Facebook is the most popular social media site where you can interact with people directly. But it is helpful to them who are marketing their products or things which can attract people. If you are approaching people for any services, then maybe not many people will be interested in you. So as a Facebook you can just get traffic to your site rather then possibility of business. I can suggest you if you are working with any service industry then you can use LinkedIn which is better to get leads and business.

    #1 Social Site is FB.
#1 Social Search Engine is YouTube.
Twitter and Google+ are behind the two.
    Tumbler is up and coming.

But I don't think it's wise to spread yourself out too thin. Find out WHAT works for YOU. This is key.

The thing is, Facebook is number two in the list of most visited websites according to wikipedia. However, couple of people (haters), say that Facebook isn't as good as ebay/amazon/blahblahblah... Classified ads, on the other hand, is good, but can have few visitors....

Facebook is not for internet marketing? are you kidding me?

Facebook, if not better, is at par with twitter when it comes to social media marketing. It has the widest reach, the biggest user base and the functionality to promote nearly anything on it.

Even websites that provide facebook likes such as like4like and now traffup is so popular.. thanks to it..

However, you can also try twitter along with it to multiply the effect of social media marketing...

Try Shopial Tool. The Shopial tool is one of the best out there because it only takes three clicks to take your currently existing ecommerce website and turn it into a fully functional Facebook store. It also has a function for making a one-click Facebook ad for promoting your products and bringing in more sales for your business.
