Finally found a way to get highly targeted Twitter followers for free in just 5 minutes per day

You just search for users that might follow you back when you follow them. This sounds easy at first but doing it well takes a bit of work which is why I stopped when I first tried this strategy with no luck a year ago. Unfollowers helped motivate me to try this again because they help speed things up but you can just use Twitter search to do this whole strategy. Doing this gets me around a hundred free highly targeted followers in around 5 to 10 minutes of work per day. Here's what I did and how you can do it.
  1. Figure out who I could follow that would follow me back. The kind of person I thought should follow me is not often the type that really would. I came up with people doing what I do by looking through the followers I had already got without working too hard and seeing what they did. Getting this exactly right is key because if you pick the wrong type of person, your follow back rate will be very low and there will be hardly any follow up.
  2. Find out what they call themselves in their about profile. This was hard because the exact search term has to be right to make the process fast. For example, when I searched for "digital marketing" I got a lot of company pages with tons of followers. I tried "digital marketing consultant" but only got a few hundred. After trying a ton more combinations, I found "digital marketing specialist" produced a list of several thousand using "exact search" for users.
  3. Setup an automated thank you for following me message using Unfollowers or some other third party app that thanks people when you follow them. I use both a direct message with my YouTube channel and a group @ message once per hour to everyone that followed me that hour.
  4. Unfollow everyone that does not follow me back within a week. You don't want to get flagged for aggressive following and this seems to help a lot.

I have added a few hundred legit followers in the last few days that are going through my Tweets and mentioning me in theirs. My thought is that spending 5 minutes per day to follow a thousand people and having a few hundred follow me back will over time build my twitter following into a strong one. Since I have nearly 800,000 fans on Facebook, my Twitter profile looks really weak with only a few thousand. Twitter ads don't work nearly as well to get low cost followers like Facebook ads do so I am trying this free way and it is working great so far!

Thank you for reading and I hope this was helpful!

You're welcome and thank you for your positive feedback! Building a good following on Twitter offers both a good alternative to Facebook and an easy way to connect directly with people. Facebook pages are not a good way to connect with people and YouTube messaging/comments are rarely read by most creators. Twitter gives a good option in this case.

If you do this strategy enough to make a twitter following with several thousand people, you can then list your twitter account at buysellads and then let people pay you to tweet. I am planning to try buying a tweet with a few people and see how it works out.
