Facebook Ads not converting :(

Hey!

Do you guys have any advice on increasing the conversion rate on a squeeze page you're sending Facebook traffic too?

Right now I sent almost 77clicks to my squeeze page and only 3-4 people have opted in.

My ad and squeeze page are pretty congruent and I made it using ProfitsTheme.

Any advice would be helpful

P.S: this is a page outside of the IM niche

This could be one of, or a combination of, a few issues.

First and most obvious being your conversion optimization isn't up to par. Without seeing your page I can only speculate, but this is usually the #1 reason people don't get sales/opt ins/sign ups etc. Conversion Optimization is a BIG deal and should be given a lot of attention with A/B testing.

You need to make sure your offer is directly in line with what your market wants/needs. From there you need to be sure your page isn't cluttered, has a clear CTA, even colors and sign up boxes can have an effect on conversion as well as number of other things that make a great landing page.

The second plausible answer is your targeting in your ads is a bit off. Ad targeting also takes A/B testing to make sure you are narrowing in on your market. If the targeting is too wide, you may be getting visitors that are not totally in line with your page.

Another reason could be the type of ad you are using. Facebook has a handful of different ads you can use, and in your case it seems like you should be using either Conversion Ads or Website Click Ads. I would personally suggest Conversion Ads because you are wanting your visitors to take a specific action.

Along with using the correct ads, you should try using multiple images for your ad. Different people respond to different things. Facebook allows you to upload multiple images and they cycle through automatically.

**Pro Tip - many studies have been done and there has been two main things that have popped up in these types of ads:
    1. Images with people in them convert better. (this does not necessarily mean once they get to your page they will convert again, but you will have a better converting ad)
    2. Images with people pointing or looking right also convert better. To the right is where the text for your ad is, and when people see the image they automatically look towards the text, simply based on following the person in said image. This fact I thought was pretty neat myself.

Again, without seeing your ads or page I can only speculate, but these are the most common issues and the testing is what will fix your conversion issues.

I think it's probably my targeting that is off.

That can take a bit of testing, but it's MUCH easier than the other problems to sort out. Make sure every interest, age range and even shopping habits in some cases, are all directly in line with your target market.

If you're at all stuck with WHO your target market is, do a little bit of research on who these people are, and come up with a persona that consolidates them all. Then when you create your targeting, act as if you are creating it for that one persona.

This should help you narrow down the myriad of options Facebook ads have

if like what you say (your squeeze page is very good!) then you have to modify your target audience! and don't give up just keep optimizing until you get %50 or more opt-in rate!

this is interesting. I created 2 ads in facebooks and got tons of clicks but none of them converted in one of my niches. But other people have lots of success (from what I hear) through these ads in the same niche. I'm going to google this and see what comes of it...

I think this is a relative statement, in which FB ads MAY not convert in certain industries. I've personally seen them convert pretty well. I've also read studies where retail type industries make a killing with FB ads.

I also have some colleagues who do incredibly well with FB ads. So, not sure this applies across the board.

You could try reviewing your squeeze page headline&tagline "Ethical Bribe" also your facebook ad audience may not be targeted enough

I've got a $5K check on its way right now that says Facebook ads convert very well. They aren't all successful, but the ones that work make it very worthwhile. It's all about testing and making sure your ads reach the right audience.
