FB ads, ideal size of potential audience, Precise Interests + demographics

I sell dresses for 0-4 years old girl with the fabric from the Gators football team and I'm targeting fans of University of Florida Gators fan which has a potential audience of 1.5 million.

If I combine fans of the Gators AND parents of children between 0 and 3 years old, the audience falls to 44,000.

Is it better to target the larger group of just Gators fan, or add the additional criterion of parents with 0-3 years children?

Or run two campaigns?

thanks.

I would suggest running two campaigns at first. This is your A/B testing to see which campaign yields the best results.

Personally I think the more targeted campaign will do best, even though the potential audience dropped, they are laser targeted. They are the fans plus have children, which mean they actually have a use for your product.

I still say run both at first, because you may engage people that either didn't state that they have kids, or maybe they know someone who does. So it's throwing a wider net. You'll see pretty quickly which campaign is doing you any good.
