FB ads: why is one ad getting all the views/reach?

I'm running an FB campaign targeting women, over 25, in France who speak French (the ad is in French). The specifics I think are irrelevant as I've noted the same pattern in other campaigns. The ad set contains 8 different ads. My understanding is that ads within an ad set are part of the same budget and are rotated. But invariably one ad is getting 99% of the reach/views? That makes me think that ONLY that ad is being shown rather than it's the most effective one. Thoughts?
#ads #views or reach

Yes, Facebook tests all the ads and then shows the highest performing ads. Nothing to worry about here.

thanks--That's what I thought but there are minimal differences in the ad so I was surprised that one got 400 views while the others just a trickle.

It's normal behavior . Adsense acts the same way testing different versions of the ads.

What I've found is that if Facebook tests one ad and it really takes off, the rest of the ads get ignored, for the most part. After the winning ad has been run for several days, Facebook will sometimes start showing the other ads more often. If you want to test out the rest of the ads, set them up in the same campaign, but place each of them in their own adset with their own budget.
