Creating Instagram account of just memes?

I'm looking for ways to promote my blog on an NFL team. I thought of an idea to do an Instagram for my blog without it being boring. Would it be a bad idea to do an Instagram on memes about the team I'm covering?

How would I promote this Instagram so people actually know about it?

    Will your target audience be entertained by memes of this subject? If so, then you should go with the idea. Just test it out sparingly first before you invest everything you have into this. See what type of response you are getting. As for promotion, you can cross promote over various social networking platforms to get exposure for your Instagram. Also related forums (signature lines) might be a feasible idea.

    I think one of your biggest hurdles would be the picture restrictions on IG. Especially since they require square sized photos and most memes you'll see are rectangular. If you can maintain quality and not have the memes too pixelated, I think you'll stand out with the idea.
