HELP! Why am I hardly getting any traffic from my quotes-Pinterest-pins?

I have a Pinterest group board, called Quotes worth Quoting, where I pin pictorial-quote-pins that are linked to my website...
  • Some of the pins lead to pages through which you can subscribe to my newsletter and get a free quotes eBook (See example)
  • Some of the pins lead to pages where you can buy quote-posters and self-help books...(See example)

My "quote pins" are getting quite a few likes and shares, but hardly anyone clicks them to visit my webpages...

Is it because:

1. Quotes are not worth the bother ?
2. My call for action isn't good ?
3. Any other reason you can think about ?

Any advice will be appreciated

Thanks, Roni

People pinning quotes on Pinterest aren't likely to click through to a website. They're pinning a quote that they like and may not even realize there's a website attached to it.

Put a call to action on the image, too (such as "click here")... you can use a free site called picmonkey.com to put some nice looking/professional call to action buttons onto your images.... you may also want to invest in a training course about pinterest... get in contact with me if you want access to a free pinterest course we are giving away.

I already took a course or two about Pinterest, and I managed to do pretty well with things like: creating pins, getting followers, getting invitations to group boards, etc...

I'm not so good with pin descriptions and, particularly, with Call to Action, and would be very happy to improve my skills... Thank you

(BTW: One of the problems is that I'm pinning those pins on various group boards, so I have to make sure that my CTA is subtle enough, or else I would be removed from the board... Any ideas how to craft a good CTA that doesn't look like an ad?)

You are part of a group quotes board. A lot of people look at pinterest through their phones. They are probably just clicking the pin button/like button on their image without even clicking through to enlarge the image and then clicking again to go through the website.

Second you don't even have a call to action in your descriptions. This is from your example,

""I Can Accept Failure, but I can't accept not trying", Michael Jordan | Roni's quotes gallery"

Why would I click through for that? Click through to what? It has no explanation or reason why someone should click through to a website with more interesting things. If I saw that description in my feed, I wouldnt even have known it was from a website with that call to action.

Wouldn't it be better to put.

"I Can Accept Failure, but I can't Accept Not Trying" Michael Jordan | Check out some more awesome quote posters! Find some that would be awesome decorations in your bedroom.

Thank you so much for you advice, SebastianAiden! Please note that my main problem / difficulty is that I'm pinning a lot on group boards, so I must make sure that my Call to Action is subtle and doesn't look an ad, or else I'll be removed from the board/s...

Any idea where can I learn how to craft CTAs that are subtle, yet effective? Any good articles / tutorials worth reading?

      Thanks, Roni

Taking a look at a few of your quotes and the sites they are linked to, they rarely seem to make sense to me. "The only people I owe my loyalty to are those who never made me question theirs" links to an article about fiber?? for example. So even if someone did click thru to the site you linked it to, they would see it has nothing to do with the quote and bounce off immediately.

Quotes are good (if they are good quotes of course) for getting yourself followers and getting the quotes repinned (which potentially will get you more followers0, but for marketing, you need to relate the pins to what you are selling or use a different pinning strategy. For example if you wanted to link to that article about fiber, perhaps do a small infographic on the "Top 3 Natural Sources of Fiber" or something that relates to your linked item. Then include a call to action in the graphic to "Learn more" or similar button as others suggested.

Thank you LABEShops. The example which you picked (leading to an article about Fiverr) is not mine! (I turned it into a group board so there are currently pins from other people too...)

My pins lead ONLY to a website of mine, where you can find plenty of pictorial quotes + subscribe to my list and get a free quotes-eBook, OR to pages where you can browse through different designs of quote-posters (so IT IS related)...

My CFA is poor, that's for sure, and I would LOVE to hear more about how to improve it.

      Cheers, Roni

    1) You need a clear call to action on each picture.
    2) Quotes by themselves are nice but people do not have any reason to click on them.
    3) Try to find quotes that inspire curiosity.

Maybe you can give the quote and underneath ask who they think said it. Then tell them to click there to find out.
