Text on images for social media

Hi All,

Is there a specific piece of software that folks use to make those images made up of quotes (or just about anything else!) that seem to be all over Pinterest etc? Things like this:

Pin by Robin Baron on Funny stuff | Pinterest

I know it would be easy enough to make in Photoshop / Gimp etc, and there seem to be quite a few online generators, but is there anything specifically targeted at the task? Maybe that could handle creating batches of images from a text file of quotes?

    Register on quickmeme and choose caption and you will be able to do your own "memes"

    Melkur, NO!

    There is no software for this kind of thing.

    As you rightly mentioned, PS or GIMP is used to make them. The only efforts required are attaining good wallpapers, cropping them, put a quote and make it happen.

    Doesn't take more than 10 seconds to make one.

    Thanks for the input, it's much appreciated! I'll do them in GIMP for now, but I'm tempted to make something to automate them from a batch of quotes when I have a minute.

    Like you mentioned Photoshop and Gimp but I have been spending way too much time on my smartphone(iphone) browsing Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and those sort of images are everywhere on Instagram, since its a photo sharing network, and I have found iphone apps that do this very well such as PicLab HD, InstaCollage and there are tons of others including Meme Generator Apps that let you import your own pictures and add text. So if you wanted to do this on your smartphone while traveling, away from home or at the beach you could search the app store for picture editors or image editing and you'll find plenty. But as far as batch - they don't do batch I'm pretty sure.

    We have a tool that generate a list of images from your text input. You choose the best one from the list (and add message if you like) and directly submit a post to multiple Facebbok groups and Linkedin groups. We could definitely add a feature that generates images from quotes. Here's the link:
