Facebook ads to sell ebook

Hi, my name is Massimiliano. I'will be an italian internet marketer. I am author of ebook (front end product) and i want sell it in my site which isn't a blog.

I'am thinking to use fb ads to collect email address with a squeeze page + free report. The cost of ebook is 17.97€. We suppose of CPC is 0.04 € and squeeze page converts up to 10%.

The cost of CPA is 0.40. The email marketing convert contact from 1% to 5% in customer. The cost of acquired costumer is 40 €. There is a loss. (17.97-40)= -22.03 €

Is there something wrong?

What do you suggest that i should do?

    It's tough to say whether there is something wrong without knowing the market you're in or the product you're selling, but there are a number of things you can do to improve your sales funnel...

    You can sell a product on the back-end of the sales funnel to make up the difference. You can raise the price of your front-end product. You can optimize your sales page, your ad targeting and your e-mail marketing to improve your conversion rate.

    I suggest you start your threads in the appropriate forum...
    Eg - Facebook = Social Media Forum
    CPA etc = Ad networks Forum

    I really recommend to have something free to give your leads at the beginning of your funnel. Something such as a free video talking about what they will be able to learn with your ebook. Later in your funnel you promote your ebook.

    The thing is that when people click your ad and then see that they will need to pay for the book they will immediately be repelled. But if you offer something for free your conversion rate will increase!

    So, have a free offer, increase your opt in rate, and promote your ebook in your funnel and through email marketing.

    I thought enough and i understood of importance of beck-end product. I will create a video-course that costs 97€

    When the video talks about what the leads will able to learn about my book, can i propose the purchase after 10 minutes of video?

    the Facebook CPC is more like 0.40 But good that you figured out that your campaign likely would not cover costs directly.

    What people usually do is
    1) Facebook campaign to convert to a free ebook
    2) Right after registration, have a low cost upsell (like your 17.97 but maybe lower - 9.97) to cover some cost of the campaign.
    3) Then email marketing to sell a higher cost product.

    Couple of things need improvement...

    First, Facebook allows enough targeting that you should be able to get higher than 10% conversion rate on your opt-in -- ensure there is a very strong message to value match on your landing page and you should be able to easily double (if not triple) that front end conversion.

    Converting "warm" leads from your sales funnel to paid product should be no lower than 2%.

    So, worst case you should be breaking even (ideally making *some* up front money from your lead-in product) and then make all of your profit on the back-end...so yes, video series, membership site, seminar, homes study course, etc... are all good ideas for back-end.

    You do need to focus on other marketing method for an ebook like this, you should consider to publish it in an Affiliation Marketplace and find affiliate that promote it.

    You need to create a landing page for this.

    Why not join ClinkBank or similar and drum up affiliates? Facebook ads aren't really optimal for the product you're trying to sell.
