Is it okay to ask for a retweet?

Hi guys,

Just curious because I don't want to break any etiquette rules. If someone favourites one of my tweets, is it acceptable to thank them and ask for a retweet? I was going to thank them anyway.

And if you tweet to them, does that go onto their tweet list that their followers see? I'm always a little unsure if I should direct message people or tweet directly to them?

Thanks!

Yes, re-tweeting is the good, because by which we engage the customer and inform that about your resources and product.

Personally, I wouldn't directly ask someone for a RT in a mention to them specifically... but putting "PLS RT" or "Please RT" at the end of a tweet is proven to get more re-tweets.

If you tweet someone directly, the only people that will also see it are people that follow both of you. If you put a period "." before their @username, then all of your followers will see it (well, the ones that are online at the time and don't have a million other tweets zooming down their timeline), but not their followers. The only way their followers will see it is if they favorite it or re-tweet it.

      Hope that helps.

This is TRUE.. We encourage clients who tweet out offers to include this at the end of their tweet, People naturally do as asked especially if they agree or like the information they see.

You can always use a fun or polite way of asking for the retweet such as: 'Hey if you like what I'm saying don't forget to retweet.' Or, "retweet for Pete's sake!" Just anything to catch someone's attention will likely do.

If you need a retweet, I say ask for it.
I don't think it qualifies as spam if it originates from you and not posted on someone's existing thread
