Social media marketing is all about trust. People trust you first, then only they buy something from you.

One of the best way to get trust in social media is through story telling.

    That sounds a little bit like the same concept as with email marketing which make sense if you look at it from a sales mans perspective.

    By sharing your past you and the struggles you had you give them something they can relate to and they see you as being in the same level as them. This makes encourage people and make them feel that they are not alone. By seeing that they see you as a real person and not just another spamming advertiser
