Any Tips/Tricks to Lower Facebook Ad CPC?

Hey guys,

I'm starting my second Facebook ad campaign and so far the estimated CPC is $.60-1.28.

Do you have any tips for lowering this? The ad is for the gaming niche and I just have it filtered by sex, age range, and everyone who likes the game.

I'm not sure if there's any way to filter further that would be beneficial to the CPC, or if there are other tricks for lowering it. Suggestions?

Thanks,
Jen

If you have an ad that gets good engagement, the cost per click will drop below the estimated CPC. I would play around with the targeting, the ad copy and the image attached to the ad to try to get more people to engage with the ad.

      Hi Jennifer,

I have found that in Facebook ads specific images often make a huge difference in engagement and can help to lower costs. Try testing a variety of images to see what your audience will respond to the most, Analyse the results and try to isolate the factors within the image that seem to resonate the most with your audience. Then run tests to confirm and validate those insights. Continuously repeat the cycle of testing, analyzing, and adapting.

Also, try even more granular targeting. There are likely subsets of interest groups that will cost less, or provide more engagement. Use various combinations to find the optimal subsets.Test. test, and test some more, the data will provide insights that help you take your campaigns to the next level.

    Jennifer...

When I run campaigns (usually "like" campaigns), my cost per like is typically $0.15 per like or less. This means that an investment of just $100 will often result in 500-700 "likes". My campaigns often outperform 80%-90% of similar campaigns because I am very, very good at targeting.

My soccer site has about 1400 real fans. When I post a link to my site on my timeline, I typically see a reach of 30%-60% and massive traffic to my site (500-1000 visitors per day).

With that in mind, you really want to go over your targeting with a fine-tooth comb. What I ultimately suggest is that you run "like" campaigns to build your audience and then just post on your timeline.
