      What issues are you experiencing in this instance?
      Since we moved everything over to Amazon, the only real solution to this would be to rewrite the whole search functionality. This is quite a big job. I'll see if there are any ways we can resolve the issues without a complete rewrite.

        I thought you said you were going to rewrite the DB and rebuild the search functionality...

        The current search function (find posts by user) is not going back to anywhere near where it should when it works and today it is not showing the most recent posts either. Today I am only getting results from July 10 - Sept 28 (just 10 weeks worth of posts).

      NO search - even when I get a search to work - pulls up any results past Sept. 28.

      It often takes several tries to get ANY results and new posts/threads are not showing in the search. As days/weeks pass, that will become a bigger problem. Right now, I expect many members haven't noticed the search ended in Sept.

      I guess I don't understand the answer. You moved the forum - and now isn't working correctly....and there's no solution? So we shouldn't point out when things are broken?

    What I don't understand is that the forum runs vBulletin, and the internal search is vBulletin. It's not custom that I've ever seen.

    I fail to see what Amazon has to do with this. That's just hosting, not the PHP that runs it. (I'm a vB and PHP dev, amongst others, and have been for 7+ years now.)

    ... and if it is custom, then the customizations have obviously failed , and should just be removed, and the vanilla vB search routines restored..

    The forum is all but useless for me now. I can't search for anything at all. Google brings up really old topics, so it's not an alternative. Subscribing to our own posts, and flooding our inbox, is also not a solution. Users I knew from elsewhere are also not coming back to the forum much anymore, as it's not a helpful site anymore.

    This is how sites die.

    It's now November and the find posts by user search function is still broken. One way or another it's been broken for the past 6 months. C'mon, man! Can't you Freelancer folks devote some resources to properly fixing the search function?
