Just saw another thread with links to Fiverr in the sig - and in this particular case the person is USING an image of Warrior Forum in his Fiverr gig and advertising 'paid posting'!

Fiverr is not "your own domain" - and seems to be the most used link in sigs of new members recently. It's also probably the reason for many of the nonsense posts here.

WF rules say:

Promote Your Own Domain/s Only.
Promote Your Own Real Web Site And Do Not Listen To Anyone Who Tells You To Come Here Just To Promote A Site They Created For You.
If the sig rules have changed - need to change the wording.

Kay .. for as long as I can remember, your own Fiverr gigs and your own Flippa listings have been allowed, even though they aren't your own domains. It was an unwritten rule, but that's the way it has always been.

I think the rules need clarification. But I can think of several cases where this rule may not be the best. For example:

A WSO listing wouldn't be allowed under the strict interpretation of the current rules.

An employee posting on behalf of a company may be legit. For example, CB support use to post here. Right now there is an employee or contractor or whatever for the Affiliorama program that posts here. CPA company reps post here now.

An FB page or group may be legit. What's the purpose of creating a website just to link to your FB group when you are using FB groups to avoid having a website?

Leadpages or similar may be legit. Same logic as above.

A link to an Amazon listing may be legit (without affiliate link perhaps).

PS http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...time-only.html is an example of how the rule needs clearing up. I know one of the regulars got his sig deleted a couple times and may have even been banned for a short time for using a Leadpages sig. Now the forum is selling it and there will be a lot of new signups most likely and those people will want to put their new toy in their sig.

I couldn't remember if Fiverr was allowed before or not - but I know it wasn't the prevalent link it is today. If it's allowed - no problem - but rules should reflect that. WSO sigs have always been an exception and that's clear.

Today was a bit much - member advertising his Fiverr gig....in his signature....

His ad on Fiverr features a copy of this forum's logo and page....with an offer for "paid forum posting". So - promoting a Fiverr gig in his signature on the WF - aimed at helping people game the Warrior Forum and its members.

People have been trying to get around the "no affiliate links" in sig files
by using leadpages for quite a while.
And now the forum is going to help them out too.

Les - I saw that and they are getting by with it so I guess that's now acceptable.

It's not my place to tell FL what their rules should be - just think the rules should reflect what is allowed so whatever limits there might be are clearly noted for all members.

          I agree Kay.
But if they actually enforced this rule:

"Promote Your Own Real Web Site And Do Not Listen To Anyone Who Tells You To Come Here Just To Promote A Site They Created For You. "

it would cut the junk posting drastically.

Kay, I reported that guy and put a link to his ad on Fiverr in the report.

There was a paid forum poster the day before that got banned. So that's at least 2 in 2 days.

Getting frustrating trying to help out especially when there is a never ending cycle of new users doing the exact same thing the last set was banned for or the reason all their posts were deleted or whatever.
