Whats with the Log out ? every time I come back to the site I have to log in and goes to the feed!! I would understand if that would post when some back end work was being done so at least we would know what to expect.

As a share holder it does amaze me that things could go a tad better on the information front

I think the feed is really sleek looking, I've been slowly using that instead of the forum.

I concur that I've been getting logged out with each session though.

Yes it's getting beyond a joke now.
And each time it asks if I'm interested in the new style forum or the old.
How can they destroy a forum that quickly?

The numbers today say a lot...500 active members? Lowest member participation here I've ever seen. Soon it will be too late to reverse the trend and that's too bad.

Glad to see others having this issue. I have to log in every time from my laptop, from my phone, etc. It's getting old fast.

And yeah, hate the feed. I just like the forum.

Just had to log in again as well, I guess like others when they say "we will look into it", it means well one day we might get around to it ? probably by then most people will say not bothered logging in one more time, if so there are always the spammers that help boost numbers I suppose ?.

        We're looking into it.
When this problem was first mentioned in another thread the answer from FL was "we're working to fix this today".

In this thread the LAST answer was

        We're looking into it.
A week later and nothing has changed. Not only do I have to log in every time I come to the WF - but it takes several tries as the system does not respond. Then when it FINALLY recognizes the name/password it takes me to the feed - which is not what I want.

Could this be one of the reasons for the recent drop in "member activity"? My thought after 2 tries this morning was "I'll try once more and then forget it for today". Maybe others are not that persistent.

It could very well be. There are lots of times I am here and I do not post, I am just reading. So, I just don't think to log in. I imagine there are a good many people who do the same. Does not affect me, but it is probably having an affect on FL's analytics

          It has for me.
I used to have to login once everyday.
          Today it's been twice already.
But I don't think anyones interested or they would have

Have logged in countless times today, have been told that I don't exist, that I need to upgrade to War Room membership and once more that I don't exist.

All that's missing is 'you have been abducted by aliens' and it would round off the day perfectly.

Needless to say I am mightily p***ed off with the whole farce.

Now I can't even login from my laptop. Only my phone. The login button simply doesn't work.

While we're at it, could we make it possible to click on a thread and go to the last read? On my phone it always takes me to the top, sometimes after I made the effort to scroll all the way down. And since my phone is my only option to login currently.....

Basically, you've done a great job of making it easier to sell stuff or buy stuff on here. Can we also maybe make the forum usable?

Yep, just another complaint for this forum. It's honestly the worst forum as far as execution of usability that I go to regularly. By the way, I had to login once again just to post this.

So, while I'm here, it would be nice if when I logged in it took me back to a thread or forum instead of some stupid personal notepad and referral program. Why on earth would I refer anyone here anymore? I did in the past, not formally through a system, but I invited several people here. Not now.

Yes, that's one of the many problems about logging in on mobile. And of course every thread in Mobile is entitled "Test" when you're in the thread so you can never know where you are.

Since, like you, I can only log in on mobile now and desktop login is completely broken, the many mobile issues are even more annoying than ever.

You'd think this was a brand new forum run by people who were both broke and lacking in any technical ability whatsoever.

Will you please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE UGLY PLEASE
put a login link in the stupid pages that show up when you forcibly log us out?

I mean, maybe for security reasons you need to force-log us out, fine. But at LEAST do as ALL THE OTHER SITES DO, and put a log in box or link and log us back in WHERE WE WERE.

Also, please check your login page. When you log me out and I have to manually go back to the main Warrior Forum home page, when I click on Login, the login page button DOES NOT WORK unless I go into the name field, then the password field and THEN ONLY will the login button work.

      This is really aggravating.
(And don't get me started on the STUPID RSS PAGE. FIY: RSS is for FEED that people want and CHOOSE TO SUBSCRIBE TO, not for home pages!)

You keep making changes that DOWNGRADE THIS SITE instead of improving it.

Will you STOP and listen to the members instead?

      Will you?

This has to be a joke, been away 2 weeks and come back and this crap still exists ? are the forum owners just ignoring people who give feedback ? do they really really wonder why people are getting peed off with this place and are leaving ? school kids could run this place better at the moment.

They've clearly given up on this site. Every other post in the offline section is some nonsense thread followed by nonsense posts. I've tried to keep it clean by reporting things but I have to constantly log in to help the kids do their job. I include a "fix the damn login system" message when reporting, but clearly nobody cares. I'm not sure why we stick around the Titanic here.

The first reply (now removed) was "we'll get this fixed today"...then it was "we're working on it"....now this section is us talking to ourselves with no response.

The only things I've been reporting are the super obvious spam threads/posts that have gone unnoticed by mods for hours...but I don't bother to do that often now. If I (after logging in yet again) can immediately see those threads - mods can see them, too. That alone says a lot.

Then I go into a thread to find the entire thread has been re-written so that it now features one person who joined in (as usual) to argue while the OP is no longer welcome here. I have to honestly admit I have no CLUE these days what's going on or what the goal is here.

Yes, this issue has been ongoing.

No, we have not forgotten about it.

We've deployed a number of attempted fixes for it, each time we seem to be getting closer to figuring out what the underlying cause of it is, but we haven't quite cracked it yet.

I was planning on replying to this when we new we had a fix in the bag. I apologise to all as this is taking far longer then what we thought it would.

      Swiftpantha,

Thanks for the update and your efforts to resolve this issue.

One of the things that many users absolutely hate about things is the lack of communication. Of course, you don't have to tell us anything - it's your forum. But with some communication and relationship building I think a lot of the negative things that are said could be smoothed over or at least lessened.

We all understand things go wrong. But no one likes to be ignored. We are your customers - even if we haven't paid you any money. You get paid through our participation by selling ads, etc. Customers that are ignored and so feel that things aren't going to change leave and many will badmouth the forum on the way out and after they leave.

For example, there was recently a question about the 2 main admins that were here through the transition - Alaister and DanielJB. Neither have used the forum lately, apparently. You and other admins showed up but no one ever said anything about who we talk to now - who runs the place. I would think that would be an important announcement but it was never made - lack of communication.

Another example, no one knows what the current WSO rules are because they clearly aren't what Alaister says they are. When we have asked about it we've been ignored.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do or how to run things - that's not my place. There are a great many people that care about this forum, including me, but that number is dwindling fast and one of the key reasons is lack of communication. People understand problems, transitions, hire/fire, etc. They normally can't accept being ignored. That's all I'm saying.

Great post....just a few more pennies from me.

You may have seen this already...apparently Alaister has nothing to do WF or Freelancer management anymore. It looks as if he has moved on, or was forced to do so.

        http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...l#post10640588

It has been surprising to see the WSO section quickly revert back to tons of wild money claims, big assertions and heavenly promises. Clearly the rules Alaister and DanielJB and team instituted in that section are no longer being adhered too as the admins are approving income claim after income claim etc.

I do hope some form of announcement comes soon to let us know who is guiding the ship now that Alaister is gone, and explain why has the WSO section returned to a virtual $$Crapish$$ claim fest.

More communication would be a great thing...

        Cheers

It hasn't been fixed for me at least. I just had to log in twice in two minutes.

Also, please fix (stop) the redirection to the feed. When we've already chosen to be in the forum, not the feed, and we get forcibly logged out, we should not be redirected to the feed when logging in again.

They're too busy dealing with the sudden influx of clients and workers from oDesk/eLance/Upwork. This time, they didn't even have to bother paying anything for an acquisition; just let their primary competitor self-implode! LOL!

Yeah, looks like the logout fix didn't work. Back to the drawing board on that one.

The feed redirection is based off what you selected as a preference. If you have not selected a preference you are directed to feed by default. I just looked in the database and it appears that we have no preference for your account. If you select 'no' in the orange box at the top of the feed you should never be redirected to the feed again.

Since you mentioned the most recent fix the other day, I haven't had any problems on the latest FF and Windows 8.1.

It also seems to be working on my Android mobile. However, the last few days I haven't visited the forum but a couple times on my phone so not sure if it works long term or not but short term it's been better than before.

There seems to be a number of contributing factors and it's just tackling each one as we discover it.

It's a difficult one to test as there's no easy way to figure out exactly what is invalidating the sessions.

I noticed it myself over the weekend once.

Want to toss us a bone and tell us how many of us made each choice? My guess is 5k forum, 250 feed, and 1M+ unselected.

Oh, that's easy: Your servers are in Australia, and we're all up here north of the equator, so all of our browser cookies get flipped upside down and the timestamps are getting misinterpreted.

The feed redirection is based off what you selected as a preference. If you have not selected a preference you are directed to feed by default. I just looked in the database and it appears that we have no preference for your account. If you select 'no' in the orange box at the top of the feed you should never be redirected to the feed again.
I've chosen "no" to the feed at least 20 times since it started. I gave up on it ever working so I stopped doing it every time. Then I did it again about a month ago to see if it had been fixed and the option stopped appearing at all to say yes or no, but I still got sent to feed every time. I just logged in from a different browser that I never use and got the option again and chose no again in that browser. I would suggest setting the default to no myself since I really can't imagine most people visiting a forum want to see a feed view anyway.

So I click a link from another site (a Facebook post, to be exact) to a WF post and I go to a FEED version of the post. How idiotic is that? If I wanted an RSS FEED I would grab the RSS FEED!

Honestly, are you people really this stupid?

I did NOT have to log in again today...that's an improvement.

I've been using the regular forum and so far that preference has held.

    Progress...

The logout problem is fixed, but there is another problem. When your reading a thread then you click on the breadcrumbs link, it often shows this error message instead of going to the forum.

Hi, thanks for putting this to our attention. What thread were you checking and what section?

        Thanks!

Hi, it doesn't happen in any particular section of the forum. It happens in every section. Also, when clicking the breadcrumbs link, it sometimes goes to the forum and only sometimes the error message shows.

Yeah, things may not be totally fixed, but they do seem to be improving as I have not been logged out over the past few days, and I have not seen the feed view for more than a month.

I just noticed this over the weekend, but I am not normally here on weekends on the forum.

I do like the layout and I have not seen the feed for the last few weeks also.

      A great improvement.

I believe that my logout issues have resolved since the admin post about it. I haven't had any issues on my Windows 10 laptop running Chrome, nor have I had issues on my Android phone running the Naked Browser.

The log in worked for about 2 days and no no longer works again, the go to last post is broken and it seemed like it took about 3 go's to log in, that's not t mention when clicking into a post or go to last post I have to fight the stupid feed about 5 times before I get back to the forum, what fun.

There was a fix pushed a few days back for the logout.

Current prevailing theory is that the logouts are related to slave drift in the db. Fingers crossed this is the bottom of this rabbit hole.

The login has worked very well for me with no problems the last couple weeks except for one circumstance.

That is if I clean the junk (cookies, etc.) I have to login several times before it is successful. This has happened every time since the login problems started a while back but before I didn't have this problem. Of course, before I had to login again after deleting cookies but it worked the first time every time. I'm using FF and Lastpass.

    Thanks for the feedback Mark.

I can't seem to replicate this issue with clearing cookies. Was the last time you experienced this within the last 48 hours? Just tried in chrome and FF with both an incognito window and clearing cookies in the normal session and logging in. All 4 scenarios worked as expected.

Moss, the last time was just this morning right before I wrote the above post.

Maybe it's something weird on my end. Like I said, besides that I'm happy so far with the login issues.
